New Manchester Jaguars’s FAME Chorus is taking it to the top — literally — as they prepare to perform at the 2027 national conference of the American Choral Directors Association(ACDA).

“These last few years have been quite a journey in my career as a choral music educator and honestly, I’m still taking it all in,” said Choral Director Antwoin Holman. “What started as a calling to teach, inspire and create meaningful musical experiences has led to moments I could only pray and dream about.”

Under Holman’s leadership, the FAME Chorus program has participated in the 2025 GMEA Conference, 2025 Georgia ACDA State Conference, 2026 Southern Region ACDA and now they will take center stage at the 2027 National ACDA.

Lithia Springs High School Lions' new softball coach, Brittany Adams, is excited about the 2026 season.

Adams spotlighted three players at the recent DCSS Fall Sports Media Day: senior pitcher Jacinda Johnson, senior second baseman Isabella Arredondo and junior captain Sanii Miller.

In addition to the veterans, Adams said she has new faces on the roster, and she expects the team to be more competitive this season.

"We're pretty excited to get back on that field and show the new Lithia way," she said.

Robert S Alexander High School returns a core of starters to a squad looking to have a breakout season in 2026.

Head football coach Cody Neal, in his fourth season, has eight or nine starters back on offense and defense.

“We have a pretty experienced football team this year,” Neal said at the recent DCSS Football Media Day. “Most of these guys all played last year as juniors, and some of them have been playing since they were freshmen and sophomores.”

The Cougars’ veteran offensive line is the team’s “strongest yet” in Neal’s four seasons at AHS, he said.

Alexander also returns multiple proven running backs, including senior JaQuan Sutton, who rushed for more than 1,000 yards last year.

The Cougars host Paulding County tonight at 7:30 p.m.
