Douglas County School Nutrition Promoting positive aspects of the Douglas County School Nutrition Program. Douglas County School Nutrition Program is an award-winning Child Nutrition Program!

Douglas County cafeterias meet federal nutrition standards for school meals, ensuring that meals are healthy, well-balanced, and provide students all the nutrition they need to succeed at school. Now is a great time to encourage your kids to continue to choose school breakfast and school lunch! School meals offer students a variety of foods and drinks including; low-fat milk choices, fruits, vegetables, proteins, and whole grains. School meals must adhere to strict limits on calorie content, saturated fat content, sodium content, and portion size. We also strive to offer Douglas County students healthier and tastier meal and snack choices. Each year we ask students to taste test and rate foods that we are considering for upcoming menus so that they have a say in what they're eating. We even feature Georgia grown produce each month to support local farmers and offer students fresh ingredients.

We are so proud to celebrate two of our outstanding Douglas County School Nutrition team members, Dolores Hall of Turner Middle School and Alysia Powell of Eastside Elementary School, for receiving the 2026 Cafeteria Excellence Award for their schools! 🎉👏🏾

This award recognizes their dedication, hard work, teamwork, and commitment to excellence in serving our students each and every day.

Dolores and Alysia show up every day with a heart for our students and a commitment to making sure they receive quality, nutritious, and delicious meals in a welcoming environment. They go above and beyond to create a positive cafeteria experience and help ensure that every student is served with care and respect. ❤️

We’re kicking this Friday morning off with our fantastic cinnamon rolls! 🍥✨ And for lunch, our cafeterias served up some delicious favorites, featuring our NEW Jerk Chicken over Caribbean Rice! 🌴🍗🍚

🌮 Happy Tuesday from our cafeterias! 🎉

Lunch today had several delicious options, including Nachos and Chicken & Cheese Enchilada Pockets — definitely one of our Tuesday favorites! 😋

Today, we also gave our students the opportunity to try something new: Jicama Slaw with Tajín & Lime! 🌱🍋 Some of our managers even stepped it up and made some delicious Jicama Fries, while others added a little cucumber to theirs. 🥒

We love seeing our cafeteria teams get creative and find fun ways to introduce our students to new foods and flavors!

We kicked off this Friday morning with a homestyle breakfast featuring grits, sausage, toast, and homestyle red potatoes. 🥔✨

Then it was time for lunch! 🌯🔥 Our Buffalo Chicken Wraps were PHENOMENAL! Hot, fresh chicken tenders tossed in buffalo sauce, topped with cheese and all wrapped up and ready to enjoy! 🤤🧀🍗

The lettuce didn’t stop our SHINE one bit! ✨ Our teams are finishing the week strong and serving up delicious meals for our students! ❤️

We are excited to announce that for the 2026–2027 school year, several schools in our district have qualified for the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) program.

If your child’s school is listed below, all students will receive school meals at no cost, and no meal application is required.

Please review the list of qualifying schools below to determine how to proceed for the upcoming school year.

If your school is not listed, students may still qualify for free or reduced-price meals by completing a meal benefits application. We encourage all families to apply to determine eligibility.
