According to a recent Washington report, America’s labor market presents a paradox. Although the unemployment rate was just 3.9% in June 2024, there are more jobs open than people who can fill them. Nationwide, there are roughly 68 workers for every 100 open jobs. Many factors contribute to this workforce shortage, but one of the most significant is a growing skills gap — millions of workers across the economy are unprepared for in-demand employment opportunities.

Join the MWI Workforce Institute at our annual Back-In-School Drive & Career Expo on Thurs., Aug 22nd. Event highlights includes:
*A free laptop giveaway for school-aged students (pre-registration required)
*A virtual reality mobile workshop for career pathways in the Skilled Trades sector
*Onsite employer resources
*Community resources
*Give aways
*And much more!!
This event is free and open to the public. Please share.

According to an analysis from the National Skills Coalition, 52% of jobs today require more education and training than high schools provide, but less than typically included with a four-year college degree. Unfortunately, only 43% of workers have access to the skills training needed to fill those jobs. There is still time to register for the CareerRise Prologis Learning academy. REGISTRATION DEADLINE: July 5th. Please share! https://lnkd.in/eGR2ZqSB
