Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month at Factory Shoals Middle School! 🕺✨

On Friday, October 9th, our school grounds came alive with vibrant colors, joyful music, and rich traditions as FSMS hosted a special Hispanic Heritage Day celebration! 🇲🇽🇵🇷🇩🇴🇬🇹🇸🇻🇨🇴🇨🇱🇦🇷

The festivities kicked off with a spirited Hispanic Heritage Day parade, where students and staff proudly showcased the diverse cultures, histories, and traditions that enrich our school community. Following the parade, everyone gathered for a heartwarming reception filled with delicious traditional foods, great fellowship, and wonderful memories shared among students, families, and staff. 🍲❤️

Best of all, this incredible celebration was student-led! A group of passionate students brought the idea to our Media Specialist, Mrs. Barnett, who teamed up with our administrative team to make it happen.

A HUGE thank you to all of the students, parents, teachers, and administrators who showed up, supported, and contributed delicious dishes to make this event such a resounding success. Seeing "The Factory" come together in unity and celebration was truly inspiring—and we can’t wait to make this an annual tradition! 🪅🎊

On Friday, October 9th, Factory Shoals was thrilled to host our cherished annual Muffins with Moms event!

It was a wonderful morning filled with bright smiles and meaningful connection. Mothers and special guests joined their children inside the building to share delicious muffins, juice, and fresh Dunkin' Donuts coffee.

During the gathering, our principal, Mr. Hickerson, extended a warm welcome and shared essential Title I updates with our families. Mrs. Barnett, our media specialist, highlighted the vital role of daily reading and demonstrated how families can easily track reading progress using the Beanstack app.

The fun continued as families stopped by to enjoy refreshing icy treats and explore the Media Center’s Scholastic Book Fair. Moms and students also jumped into hands-on games and interactive STEM activities, making learning a shared adventure!

Thank you to everyone who joined us to make this morning so extraordinary. It was truly a fantastic event, and we are already looking forward to next year! More pics: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/17JJTaqt2RPib6wt1YhX7M-TK74OZuJDl?usp=sharing

GreatSchools – Share Your Glows & Grows!
We continue to ask our parents and community members to share their experiences at Factory Shoals Middle School through the GreatSchools platform.

We value both your glows (what we're doing well) and your grows (areas where we can improve).

Whether you would like to recognize a teacher, counselor, coach, staff member, academic program, extracurricular activity, or share constructive feedback, we welcome your input.

We know there are many positive things happening throughout Knight Nation, and we would love for our community to help share those experiences.
