William Henry “Harry” Schriefer, 67, of Kent Island, Maryland, passed away October 30, 2024. Born to the late Laura Elizabeth and George William “Bill” Schriefer Jr. Harry grew up in Arnold, MD, and graduated from Severna Park Senior High School in 1976.

Harry was a true man of service and community, dedicating over 50 years as a volunteer firefighter and EMT. He served with the Arnold Volunteer Fire Department, Cape St. Claire Volunteer Fire Department, and the Kent Island Volunteer Fire Department. His commitment to his neighbors and friends was unwavering, whether through his work with the US Naval Institute, Chesapeake College, Queen Anne’s County Park Rangers, or through his dedication to St. Margaret’s Episcopal Church of Annapolis, Kent Island Methodist Church, and the Celebrate Recovery ministry.

Harry loved life and found joy in simple pleasures. He was an avid baseball and softball player, an enthusiastic fisherman, and loved to shoot pool and bowl with friends. Harry's heart was devoted to his family.

In 1981, he married Karen Seibel Schriefer, and together, they made a life on Kent Island, raising two sons, Bradley and C. Ross, and creating a legacy of love and laughter.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Karen (Seibel); sons Bradley (wife Melissa) and Ross (wife Melynn); cherished grandchildren, Lila, Juliette, Pierce, and Lilly; sisters Doris Schriefer Fordham and Barbara Schriefer; and numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and his beloved dog Tres.

Harry's warmth and kindness touched everyone he met, leaving behind too many friends to count.

In honor of Harry's legacy of service, the family asks that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made in his name to the:
