SOAR is a nonprofit mental health organization dedicated to supporting survivors of sexual abuse, trauma, and violence through counseling, advocacy, education, and healing-centered services. We are seeking a highly driven, results-oriented fundraiser to help expand our mission, increase donations, grow our events, and elevate our community presence.

Position Summary: SOAR is seeking a dynamic and motivated Part-Time Fundraising & Community Engagement Manager to lead fundraising growth, donor development, gala/event expansion, and social media visibility. This role is ideal for someone with a proven track record in nonprofit fundraising who thrives on exceeding goals, building relationships, and generating excitement around an important mission. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in Delaware-based nonprofit fundraising and membership in professional organizations such as the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP). Local residents preferred.

Paid Apprenticeship - Earn while you learn
- Water and Wastewater System Operator and Specialist- Various cities throughout DE

Are you interested in a new career? Delaware Rural Water Association (DRWA) is a non-profit organization that is federally funded and has a two year paid apprenticeship program where you can learn to become a Water and Wastewater System Operator and Specialist. They provide classroom technical instruction and on-the-job training, providing Apprentices the tools necessary to become successful Operations Specialists in your community. During the Apprenticeship Program, Apprentices will earn-while-they-learn with knowledgeable, passionate people who strive to deliver clean drinking water to their community and treat wastewater before returning to the environment. This program starts as a job and emerges as a solid and secure career in the Water and/or Wastewater Industry.

• Must be 18+.
• Must have proof of high school or GED completion (diploma or transcript).
• Must have proof of identity (state ID or driver’s license).
• Must be able to pass a drug test and background check with the employer you get placed with for your on the job training but those checks are not required to register for the apprenticeship.

Classroom training:
• 1 day a week
• 2 years
• 9 AM – 3:30 PM
• October til April
• Location: 210 Vickers Drive, Milford, DE 19963
• Prepares you to take the Operators License test (usually paid for by your apprenticeship employer)
• 288 classroom hours total (144 hours between Oct and April)
• Usually, you get paid by your employer for classroom hours in addition to your on the job training

During the other 4 days you are not in the classroom, you will be doing your full-time, paid on the job training with your assigned employer. You will do a total of 4,000 hours during the two years you are working for them, getting paid. Salaries vary per employer. Employers are throughout the state of DE so you can be placed close to where you live. However, there are no other classroom training locations other than Milford. From May til September, you will just be doing your paid on the job training and no classroom training.

After you completion of the 2 year apprenticeship program, you will receive a Journeyman Certificate, which is registered with the Delaware Department of Labor.

Just for clarification, you will not be working for the Delaware Rural Water Association; however, they are the ones who are hosting this apprenticeship where they will place you with an employer hiring for operators. You will become a full-time, permanent employee of the employer you do the on the job training apprenticeship work for.
