On June 15, 2026, at approximately 11:18 PM, the J. H. Ketcham Hose Company was dispatched for a Priority 1 motor vehicle accident involving a vehicle that had struck a tree.

Chief Aurbry was the first unit to arrive on scene and confirmed that the operator was heavily entrapped. Due to the significant damage sustained by the vehicle, firefighters faced extremely limited access to the patient. Crews worked hard to overcome the extensive entrapment and entanglement to successfully extricate the patient.

Once freed, patient care was transferred to the LifeNet Air 2 flight crew for advanced medical treatment and transport.

Following the rescue operation, the scene was turned over to the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office for accident reconstruction.

All units returned to service at approximately 2:09 AM.

The J. H. Ketcham Hose Company would like to thank the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office, New York State Police, Town of Dover Ambulance, and LifeNet Air 2 for their assistance and cooperation throughout the incident.
