Today, February 15, the J. H. Ketcham Hose Company will be conducting an Ice Water Rescue training exercise at Boyce Park.

This is a planned and controlled training event. You may see emergency personnel and equipment in the area please do not be alarmed.

On Tuesday, November 18th, 2025, the J. H. Ketcham Hose Company was dispatched mutual aid to the Sherman Volunteer Fire Department in Connecticut for a structure fire. 36-45 was requested to the scene, and upon arrival crews encountered heavy fire throughout the building. The crew was assigned to assist with fire suppression and overhaul operations.

The J.H. Ketcham Hose Company would like to extend our sincere gratitude to our neighbors and friends at Cricket Valley Energy Center for their generous $10,000 donation.

Their contribution helped us purchase a new skid mount unit for our utility truck, an important addition that ensures we’re properly equipped to handle brush fires and a variety of other emergencies.

Temporary burn ban in effect!

The Governor has issued a temporary burn ban starting 10/2 until 10/15, where it will be reevaluated.

Governor Hochul, with the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, announced a statewide burn ban in effect starting today, October 2 due to increased fire risk and continued dry conditions.
