For our last episode of voices behind the heaset and wrapping up National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week for 2026 we will highlight our admin staff. Director Justin Bellen leads our division and can be heard covering shifts in the communications center. IT System Administrator Kelly Parker is one that is seldom heard but without his work our radio and IT systems for our communications center would not be mission ready at all times.

April 12th through April 18th is National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week.

This is a time for us to celebrate the first, first responders of Strafford County.

We are fortunate to have a dedicated and professional group of Public Safety Dispatchers and cannot thank them enough for all they do 24/7/365.

This year we will be highlighting our staff each day to put some names to the voices behind the headset.

This week we celebrate them! Thank you for being the calm voice in the storm and all you do for Strafford County!

🚨SCAM ALERT🚨

We are seeing a notable uptick in scams again targeting people in attempts to collect money.

Our office contacted over the last couple days by many folks within Strafford County who have recieved calls and emails claiming they have warrants for their arrest and demanding that payment be made via gift cards, credit cards, and cryptocurrency. They have been using names of former and current employees of the Strafford County Sheriff's Office.

They have started to provide AI generated documents that are "official looking" if you are not familiar with legal paperwork.

📌A Deputy Sheriff will never contact you demanding immediate payment in cash, gift cards, or cryptocurrency for a court related matter or to resolve a warrant.

📌If you ever doubt the legitimacy of one of these contacts call our Dispatch Center at 603-742-4968. We can verify if it is one of our Deputies you are speaking with and can get you in touch with one.
