NWS Gray Doppler Radar was taken down this morning and will be down for the next 2 to 3 days for necessary and routine upgrades. This was scheduled maintenance and just happened to coincide with the return of rain. We will still have radar overlap from our surrounding radars, and we are not expecting any severe weather during this time. We appreciate your patience and apologize for any inconvenience.

Its with a heavy heart that today we say goodbye to K9 Jasper, a loyal bloodhound and cherished member of our team, until 2022, when Lt Kerkensen retired from the Sheriff’s Office, to pursue his law enforcement career with the NH Police Standards and Training Council. Jasper wasn’t just a K9, he was family, a guardian, a partner, and a symbol of unwavering dedication. His service to the Sheriff’s Office and our community will never be forgotten. We honor his legacy and the lives he touched. Rest easy Jasper, you’ve earned it. Good Boy.

Tornadoes, large hail, strong winds, heavy rain, and lightning are all hazards associated with severe weather. Severe weather has been reported in all 50 states, so no matter where you are, make sure you are prepared! weather.gov/safety/thunderstorm

09/06/2025

We continue to monitor a slight risk for severe weather this afternoon. The main threat will be damaging winds, but hail and a brief tornado are possible as well. If your plans include being outdoors, stay weather aware and make sure to have ways to receive warnings!

09/05/2025

We are keeping our 👀on Saturday for possible severe storms. The primary hazards will include damaging winds, hail, and a low probability of a tornado in southern parts of the forecast area. The greatest risk areas are highlighted in the darker green or the marginal risk region denoted in the Storm Prediction Center's Day 2 outlook. We encourage people to stay up to date on the weather situation as the day progresses and have multiple ways of receiving weather alerts.
