Delaware DNREC Division of Watershed Stewardship The Division of Watershed Stewardship manages and protects the state’s soil, water, and coastlines. It regulates changes to coastal and urban lands.

We use a comprehensive array of watershed-based programs to ensure proper stewardship of Delaware’s natural resources. The division protects and maintains the state’s shoreline and navigable waterways. It develops and implements innovative watershed assessment, monitoring and implementation activities. It promotes wise land use, water quality and water management practices. And it works closely with Delaware’s Conservation Districts to manage stormwater and assist farmers.

Our Drainage Program is seeking an Environmental Program Manager II to work with landowners, tax ditch organizations and federal, state and local agencies to improve drainage, stormwater management and water quality in Delaware. This position will be a part of an integral team with a variety of responsibilities in planning, budget development, staff management, and implementation of projects and programs.

On Monday, May 18, the Sand Bypass system will be decommissioning for the season! There will be heavy equipment on site between Tuesday, May 19 and Thursday, May 21. The Southside Inlet crossover will also likely be closed on Monday, May 18.
