Great news for our community! 🎉

The City of Dover's playground at Dover City Park will receive $300,000 in state capital budget funding for exciting improvements, including new playground equipment and replacement of the safety surface for our children to enjoy for years to come.

In addition, the Reeves Home will receive $97,000 for much-needed exterior restoration work, helping preserve this important piece of our local history.

A huge thank you to Senator Landis and Representative Salvo for supporting these projects and investing in the future of our community. We appreciate your commitment to Dover!

Investing in House District 51

I am proud to announce that more than $1.7 million in state capital funding has been secured for projects across House District 51. These investments will support our parks, trails, historical sites, arts organizations, and community spaces, helping strengthen our communities and improve quality of life for years to come.

I was honored to work with local leaders and advocate for these projects throughout the capital budget process to help ensure our district’s priorities were represented.

I am especially grateful to work alongside Senator Al Landis. It is wonderful to have a colleague who cares as deeply about our district as I do and works just as hard on behalf of the people we serve. Our communities are stronger because of his partnership, and I appreciate all we have been able to accomplish together.

Thank you to the many local officials, organizations, and community leaders who helped make these investments possible. I look forward to seeing the positive impact these projects will have across House District 51.

Here are a few photos of the many projects ongoing, or recently completed, in the Month of May in the City of Dover.

- Reconstruction and widening of Crown Rd was ongoing and should be completed in the next week. This project is being completed with funding from 3 state agencies.

- The paving of the 1.1 mile walking path in the Riverfront Park was completed thanks to ODNR grant funding.

- A new picnic shelter was constructed at Dover City Park thanks to a significant donation from the Dover Exchange Club.

- Dover City Pool recieved a much needed paint job in preparation for installation of a new splash pad at the site. The splash pad installation should be completed this summer. Thank you to the private donors who supported this project.

-Construction of the city's new municipal center began wrapping up in preparation for an opening soon.

- Taco Bell breaks ground along Dublin Drive and 3 additional small businesses announce openings, or expansions, in the city

- A number of additional new houses begin construction at several developments in the community.

-Still to come this summer and fall- $1,000,000 worth of road repaving, Aldi breaking ground on their new store on Ohio Ave, the beginning of long needed major renovations of our downtown Fire and Police facilities, replacement of the bocce courts in the city park, and major water and sewer infrastructure work at several locations.

Another infrastructure funding win for the City of Dover!

I secured nearly $12 MILLION in federal funding for critical infrastructure projects across Eastern Ohio.
From safer roads and upgraded water systems to sewer improvements and economic development, these investments will deliver real results for Ohio families and small communities that have been overlooked for far too long.

It was great to have the opportunity to catch up with so many community leaders and friends from across the area at the Tuscarawas County Republican Party’s Annual Lincoln Day Dinner.

Thursday was an important day for those battling food insecurity in our community. I was proud to join staff from the Cleveland Clinic Foundation as they announced a $750,000 financial commitment to help fight hunger in Dover, New Philadelphia, and throughout Tuscarawas County.

These funds will support the mission of the Greater Dover-New Philadelphia Food Pantry and help expand access to food assistance for individuals and families in need.

Thank you to the Cleveland Clinic Foundation for this generous commitment to our community. I look forward to seeing the positive impact these funds will have across our area.
