So sad.... WHY do we wait until a national tragedy like this happens before we take a stand through education, awareness and prevention?? Everyone feels like it could never happen to them and it happens everyday.. murder/suicides like this happen regularly; when will we wake up? The moment of silence for domestic violence victims at Arrowhead Stadium was sadly fitting, because when it comes to acknowledging violence against women, the sports world is often mute.

Ok... election is over, it's time to work! Elected officials let me suggest the following:
1. Reach out to community leaders and support their programs with funds we all know you have access to.
2. Engage your community by having a presence at events
3. Take a stand against violence in the community
4. Quickly pass the reauthorization of VAWA!
5. Always be accessible to those whom you serve... remember who placed you in office and that before you know it , it'll be a election year again... let your actions speak louder than your words
