☀️ The Dover Avenue PTG came through in a big way yesterday!

Thank you for providing popsicles for all our students to help everyone stay cool in this heat. Our students were thrilled, and we're grateful for your thoughtfulness and support every day.

🚸 East Elementary students put safety first as they reviewed important bus safety procedures! From waiting safely at their stops to keeping hands and heads inside the windows, students learned how to help make every ride a safe one. 🚌

A big thank you to Dover’s dedicated bus drivers for safely transporting our Tornadoes each day! 🌪️

Earlier this week, Ms. Cameron's first-grade students at Dover South enjoyed some fun recess time together! ☀️

There's nothing quite like watching our youngest Tornadoes play, laugh, and make memories with their classmates. These moments are just one of the many things that make the school day special! 🌪️

Due to continued high temperatures, all Dover schools will be dismissing two-hours early tomorrow: Thursday, September 3.

All student days will end two hours before their regular time and busses will arrive at stops two hours earlier than their regular time. For example, a 3:30 regular bus stop or student pick-up time will now be at 1:30.

Afternoon preschool is cancelled.

🙋🏼‍♀️ Why does this include Dover High School and BCC students? Our transportation department functions as one system of routes, which includes high school students. We run two full sets of routes each day: one for K-5 and one for HS and MS students. We are unable to run a third set of routes, so this is the only way to transport our high school students home at the end of the day.

We appreciate your understanding and patience as we work to prioritize student health and well-being.

TUFF Bags Volunteer of the Month for September is Kim Giammo!

* Kim has been volunteering with us for about 10 months.

* Dover City Schools had a volunteer day at TUFF Bags and Kim, a school employee, signed up to help. She has been a regular attendee ever since!

* Giving back to our community is Kim's favorite part of volunteering with us.

* When asked why being involved in our community is important to her, Kim says "We are all stronger when we work together". (We love that!)

* Kim's encouragement to anyone who hasn't volunteered with us before is that it's a wonderful way to impact our community children.

Thank you Kim, for giving your time, support, and love to TUFF Bags. We appreciate you!
