After the tragic loss of 18-year-old Cristhofer Jeremy Chavez Huamani, who was fatally struck by a train here in Dover, serious safety concerns have been raised along the NJ Transit rail lines.

Mayor James P. Dodd is working tirelessly to hold NJ Transit accountable and push for immediate safety improvements. Alongside the Dover Police Department, he walked the area of the tracks to identify solutions like stronger fencing and better protections for our community.

This tragedy should have never happened. Our hearts are with the family, and we remain committed to ensuring it never happens again.
