🎡 The Dover Carnival is about more than rides, games, and entertainment. It’s about our community. 💚🧡

Mayor James P. Dodd brought the Dover Carnival to our town to create a place where families can come together, make memories, and support the local businesses that make our downtown special.

We also recognize that many of our neighbors are facing incredibly difficult times. Families are living with uncertainty, some have lost work, and many are struggling to make ends meet. We see you, and we want to help.

That’s why Mayor Dodd has pledged a percentage of the proceeds from the Dover Carnival to purchase essential items for local families in need.

When you come out and support the Dover Carnival, you’re not just enjoying a night with your family—you’re helping another family in our community.

🚨Mayor James P. Dodd would like to advise residents that a water main break has occurred at 91 Princeton Avenue.

Residents in the immediate surrounding area may experience no water or low water pressure while crews work to complete emergency repairs.

Our Water Department is actively responding and working to restore service as quickly and safely as possible. We appreciate your patience and understanding during this time.

The New Jersey Division of Taxation will be at Dover Town Hall on Tuesday, July 29, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM to assist eligible senior homeowners with filing their 2025 Property Tax Relief application.

Representatives will also be able to assist with 2025:

✅Any other tax-related questions or services

📋 IMPORTANT: Please bring ALL required documents listed on the official checklist. Applicants who arrive without the necessary documentation will be turned away and will need to return once all required documents have been gathered.

If you are a senior homeowner who plans to attend, please take a few minutes to review the checklist before your appointment to ensure a smooth process.

Mayor James P. Dodd advises residents that Blue Diamond Disposal was unable to complete garbage collection on Princeton Avenue during the scheduled pickup.

Residents on Princeton Avenue may place up to twice their normal amount of household garbage at the curb for collection on Saturday, July 25.

Mayor James P. Dodd is committed to making downtown parking easier, more convenient, and more accessible for everyone.

As we begin transitioning to our new parking system, we understand that change takes time. That’s why there will be a grace period focused on education before enforcement begins. During this time, parking staff will be available to answer questions, assist residents and visitors, and help everyone become familiar with the new system.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we modernize Downtown Dover and continue investing in a stronger, more vibrant community.

El Alcalde James P. Dodd está comprometido con hacer que el estacionamiento en el centro de Dover sea más fácil, más conveniente y más accesible para todos.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for an unforgettable evening of live music, family fun, and a spectacular fireworks display. Together, we celebrated our nation’s history, honored those who serve, and showcased the strong community spirit that makes Dover so special.

Public Notice:
Our local business owners and affected families are stepping forward to be part of the solution as our community continues to navigate the challenges surrounding immigration.

In addition to Mayor James P. Dodd's outreach to the Governor, state legislators, senators, and members of Congress advocating for our community, he is expanding access to valuable resources and information for everyone in Dover by printing out 3,000 of the "WHAT TO DO STEP BY STEP" flyers, which a group of volunteers (including him) will be part of the distribution.

As part of this collaborative effort, as of today, he also has reached out to the following:

🇨🇴The Colombian Consulate
🇪🇨The Ecuadorian Consulate
Which will soon be offering office hours at Dover Town Hall, providing residents with direct access to consular services and assistance without having to travel outside the community.
More details, including dates, times, and available services, will be announced soon (as we are putting a schedule together).
