Her favorite part of the job? Getting to know the people behind the patients. Isabella loves hearing stories, making connections, and believes everyone deserves to be treated like a person—not just a chart. Sometimes, all it takes is someone willing to listen, and Isabella is always happy to be that person 💬💕

Earlier today, A63, along with KM7 from the Kent County Department of Public Safety, responded to a medical call and quickly identified that the patient was experiencing a Stroke/CVA, requiring rapid transport to a comprehensive stroke treatment center. Aviation support was requested, EMS 63 (On-Duty Supervisor) along with the EMS Chief responded and secured a landing Zone.

Delaware State Police Aviation Section Trooper 4 responded to the scene, providing rapid air transport to a regional facility for advanced care.

As we approach EMS Week, this call serves as a powerful reminder of this year’s theme: “Improving Outcomes, Together.” 🚑

Meet EMT Michael Dilatush! 👋

Michael’s journey in public safety began 16 years ago when he became a volunteer firefighter serving in both fire and EMS. Nearly three years ago, he transitioned fully into EMS, earning both his Delaware and National EMT certifications—continuing his dedication to helping others every day. 🚑🔥

While Michael enjoys every aspect of his work, the most rewarding part for him is being able to help people when life doesn’t go as planned. Being there in someone’s moment of need is what makes the job truly meaningful to him ❤️

When he’s off duty, Michael loves spending time with his wife and young daughter, and you can often find him relaxing and fishing on the Indian River Bay 🎣

This week, we’re excited to introduce our A Platoon Lieutenant, Danika Bush 🚑

👩‍⚕️ Time in EMS:
Danika has been serving in EMS for about 7 years and as she puts it, “Time flies when you’re having fun!”

💙 Most rewarding part of the job:
“The continuous learning and growth we experience with each call. Even when calls seem similar, they all have their own special moments.”

📚✈️ Favorite hobbies outside of work:
Reading, taking walks, spending time with family, and her favorite - traveling!

We’re grateful to have LT Bush on our team and appreciate the dedication and passion she brings every day. 👏

As we close out the year, we want to take a moment to reflect. This year, our EMS team responded to roughly 13,700 calls for service. That’s 13,700 moments where someone in our community needed help, reassurance, and care. It’s a responsibility we never take lightly.

To the City of Dover community: Thank you for trusting us and allowing us to serve this great city. It is truly an honor to be there for you when it matters most.

To our EMS Professionals and support staff: your dedication, professionalism, and tireless work are what make this mission possible. Whether it be Responding to calls, teaching the community, or simply washing the trucks taking pride in your units. You show up every day with compassion and commitment, and it does not go unnoticed.

To our public safety partners: thank you for your unwavering support and teamwork. We are stronger because of the collaboration we share.

As we look ahead, we are excited for the new year and the opportunities it brings to continue serving, growing, and improving for our service for you, Dover.
