We want to congratulate Tiffany, Megan, and Doug once again on being elected to the Center Cass School District 66 School Board. As we've said before, the District was lucky to have 5 good candidates running, and we wish all of them could be on the Board.

We campaigned and firmly believe in being direct and honest, so we wanted to address a few rumors we have heard are circulating in the community:

1. Never did Tiffany, Tripp, or Nikki campaign using negative or attacking language about Unite 66 or its candidates. We know both Megan and Doug and we know they are good people.

2. Our campaign did pay to have some phone calls made close to Election Day. You can see the approved script in the comments below. Not one bad word was written/said about any candidate or group.

3. We learned that the Democratic Party of Illinois (DPI) sent text messages without our consent that were, frankly, gross. No one from DPI ever contacted us until after the election when we were told that DPI sent text messages out in any race where Dan Proft made an endorsement. Because he had endorsed the Unite 66 candidates, DPI took it upon themselves to send the text without us knowing. Nikki's email to DPI is in the comments below, clearly stating that we never would have okayed or wanted this text sent to anyone.

4. In no way did we "orchestrate" a Proft endorsement of theUnite 66 candidates for "political gain." This is a hurtful and malicious rumor with no basis. We have no contact with Mr. Proft, his organizations, or his campaigns (nor do we want any).

5. We did not possess "insider information" about the resignation of the Ide principal and conceal it until after the election so as to "benefit" our candidates. None of us were aware of Ms. Lech's conversations or communications with the administration or the Board and we certainly would not have been part of any plan to hide anything from the community. We have stated that we were disappointed the community did not learn of her resignation until the April Board meeting. Further, this information had absolutely no bearing on the election or the election results and we do not understand how it would.

6. Campaigning for public office is hard and Tiffany, Tripp, and Nikki also experienced mistreatment over the course of the campaign. We do not want to belabor or give any of this behavior any more attention than it deserves, but suffice it to say that at no time did we point fingers at or seek to blame the Unite 66 candidates. It's time- way past time- for all of this bullying, uncivil, and unproductive conduct to stop.

Bottom line: We proudly campaigned on being student centered, fiscally responsible, and outreach oriented. We concentrated on our core values and the strengths of our candidates. Our candidates are honest and have integrity. Any negative chatter running through the community did not--and would never--come from us nor did we support it in any form.

Onward now to our Brighter Tomorrow!

First and foremost: Congratulations to our candidate, Tiffany, as well as Megan and Doug on being elected to the school board! We look forward to seeing what the three of you accomplish over the next four years as part of our amazing CCSD66 Board of Education. We’ve said it all along: CCSD66 had 5 great candidates who supported the referendum and the community was so lucky to have these choices.

We want to recognize Rachel Lazich for taking a leap and running for Alderwoman. It is extremely hard to challenge an incumbent, but she did so well and changed the conversation in our slice of Darien. Of 10 precincts in Ward 6, she won 5 of them and only lost by 26 votes (based on unofficial results reported as of April 6)! She handled the campaign with class, despite unwarranted attacks on her ability to lead and be a full time working mother, engaged in thoughtful and important discussions with community members, and gracefully answered the hard questions put to her by her detractors. We are so extremely proud of her and can’t wait to see what she does next.

We want to thank Tripp and Nikki for their tireless effort and dedication over the past year, starting with their advocacy for the referendum and culminating in their running for the school board because of their desire to ensure promises made were promises kept. While this wasn’t the outcome they were hoping for, it is clear that they were uniquely qualified to serve on the school board and we know they will remain committed to being a voice for our students and community. We have no doubt that they will utilize their skills and expertise through ongoing advocacy and involvement in CCSD66.

We also want to thank each and every person who sent a kind note, requested a yard sign, financially contributed to Stronger 66, wrote a postcard, provided a testimonial, interacted on social media, talked with our candidates out in the community, sent our people all the good vibes during this campaign, and, of course, voted for and put your faith in our Stronger 66 candidates. None of this would have been possible without you, so thank you for getting involved and supporting us.

Finally, we want to highlight the importance of voting in local elections and urge people to pay attention to their officials. Only 20% of registered voters in DuPage County voted on Tuesday. We hope you’ll join us in committing to be involved in local issues, as they have a direct impact on our beloved Center Cass 66 and these local elections have the biggest impact on how your tax dollars are spent.

So, what’s next for us? A break. After two referendum campaigns and the municipal elections, we are taking a step back to enjoy some needed rest and relaxation with friends and family. But we will not be gone nor forgotten and we’ll continue to monitor CCSD66 and the community. Have no doubt that we will speak up if and when necessary to ensure our students, families, and community have strong advocates now and in the future. Thank you all for your support!

💚💪Stronger 66💪💚

Tripp, Nikki, and Tiffany made the decision to run for Board of Education before the November referendum vote. They knew no matter what happened, they wanted to serve our District. Through months of collaboration, they have created a detailed vision they hope to implement. Please take a moment, focus on the issues, and look at their platforms. 💛💚💛💚

Transparency, overseeing spending of referendum funds are the key issues in Center Cass School District 66 school board race.

It is important to help our students start thinking about their futures. 💛💚
