The Los Angeles County Probation Department has partnered with Ink Doctors to provide on-site tattoo removal services for young ladies at Campus Kilpatrick. The first session, held September 26, served 20 youth, with additional treatments scheduled every six weeks to support healing and continuity of care.

This initiative helps youth remove tattoos connected to past experiences or affiliations that may no longer represent who they are, while supporting their personal growth, employment opportunities, and successful transition back into their communities.

We thank Ink Doctors for their continued partnership and commitment to helping youth redefine their futures. ✨

On Thursday evening, the Peace Officers Association of Los Angeles County (POALAC) honored Los Angeles County Deputy Probation Officer II Lopez at its Centurian Award Ceremony.

DPO II Lopez is assigned to LA Impact Group 1, which was recognized for its outstanding investigative work over the past two years. The team’s efforts resulted in the seizure of 100 kg of co***ne, 950 lbs. of methamphetamine, 11 kg of he**in, 40 kg of fentanyl powder and 1,401,000 fentanyl pills, along with more than $1.2 million in U.S. currency and $320,000 in cryptocurrency tied to narcotics trafficking organizations.

In 2026, Group 1 also expanded its investigative capabilities through cryptocurrency reverse operations designed to disrupt transactions used by traffickers and money laundering organizations.

In September, the Los Angeles County Office of Education (LACOE) Board of Education recognized several youth for their participation in its mentorship program, which pairs youth in Los Angeles County Probation facilities with LACOE educators and support staff for a six-week experience focused on relationship-building, personal growth, and professional development.

We’re especially proud of a Camp Afflerbaugh youth who was recognized by the Board and given the opportunity to speak about his experience. He shared his personal journey and expressed his gratitude for the mentors who supported and encouraged him along the way.

Although the program is only a few years old, it continues to grow each year, creating meaningful connections and opportunities that can make a lasting difference in the lives of young people.
