East Brandywine Township Police Department is a full service police organization encompassing 11 square miles and providing police protection on a 24/7 basis. The Police Department is located within the Township Administration building located at 1212/1214 Horseshoe Pike, East Brandywine Township, Chester County, Pennsylvania. The Police Department has both full time and part time police and civil

ian personnel and we are dispatched by Chester County Emergency Services. The EBTPD provides a variety of services including patrol, criminal investigations, traffic enforcement, accident investigation, truck enforcement and community service activities. The Chester County Regional Emergency Response Team (CCRERT) is the tactical unit responsible for responding to all high risk incidents and is made up of numerous Police agencies from the North, West and Southern portions of the County. The Serious Crash Assistance Team (S**T) is made up of officers from various Police Departments who specialize in accident investigation and reconstruction of accidents. The third team, the Major Incident Response Team (MIRT), is a large contingent of officers trained to assist any Chester County agency with large scale incidents or needs that are not tactical in nature. The Police Department works in conjunction with other local, county, state and federal law enforcement agencies. Our membership in J-NET (Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Justice Network), MAGLOCLEN (Middle Atlantic-Great Lakes Organization Crime Law Enforcement Network), LEJIS (Law Enforcement Justice Information Sharing Network) and the Chester County Drug Task Force expands our abilities to investigate time consuming and complicated crimes by making additional manpower, expensive equipment and resources available to us. EBTPD Officers participate in and conduct community activities which include station tours, speaking engagements, drug education classes, fingerprinting services and the East Brandywine Township Community Day Celebration. This is a brief overview of the Police Department. Please feel free to call us or stop by at any time for information or to just say hi. The Police Officers of the East Brandywine Township Police Department are dedicated to providing the residents and community members with the highest level of service and professionalism. We are all dedicated to protecting you and will do whatever it takes to give you peace of mind, that in today's society, we all need.

🚨 Reminder from East Brandywine Township Parks 🚨

As the weather gets warmer and more residents head outdoors, we'd like to remind everyone that electric scooters and e-bikes are not permitted in Township parks pursuant to Township Code Chapters 182 and 241.

Our parks and trails are shared spaces designed for pedestrians, families, children, and passive recreation. Restricting motorized devices helps promote safety, protect park infrastructure, and ensure an enjoyable experience for all visitors.

Please help us keep our parks safe by:
✅ Walking bicycles where required
✅ Following all posted park rules
✅ Respecting other park users
❌ Leaving electric scooters and e-bikes outside the park

Thank you for your cooperation and for helping us preserve our parks for everyone to enjoy!

Today, Chief Yankanich had the honor of attending and speaking at the BAPS Charities Walk|Run, which is a nationwide annual fundraising event organized by BAPS Charities. The event supports community programs focused on health awareness, education, humanitarian relief, environmental protection, and community empowerment, along with dozens of local beneficiaries such as first responders, schools, food banks, and healthcare organizations. We always appreciate the support that the BAPS Swaminarayan Mandir in Downingtown, PA has for our first responders.

🚨🚨🚨BRIDGE CLOSURE EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY🚨🚨🚨

We will update once more information is received.

We have just been informed by the Chester County bridge department that the North Reeds Road bridge (off of Rt. 282/Creek Road) over the Brandywine Creek was inspected today and as a result of that inspection, it was determined that the bridge needed to be closed immediately. We have limited information at this time, and are working to obtain additional details such as the duration of the closure and the plan moving forward, but we wanted to share what we know currently as quickly as possible. Traffic should use the Lyndell Road bridge instead. We will provide additional details as soon as they are available.
