The Police Department is located within the Township Administration building located at 1212/1214 Horseshoe Pike, East Brandywine Township, Chester County, Pennsylvania. The Police Department has both full time and part time police and civil

ian personnel and we are dispatched by Chester County Emergency Services. The EBTPD provides a variety of services including patrol, criminal investigations, traffic enforcement, accident investigation, truck enforcement and community service activities. The Chester County Regional Emergency Response Team (CCRERT) is the tactical unit responsible for responding to all high risk incidents and is made up of numerous Police agencies from the North, West and Southern portions of the County. The Serious Crash Assistance Team (S**T) is made up of officers from various Police Departments who specialize in accident investigation and reconstruction of accidents. The Police Department works in conjunction with other local, county, state and federal law enforcement agencies. Our membership in J-NET (Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Justice Network), MAGLOCLEN (Middle Atlantic-Great Lakes Organization Crime Law Enforcement Network), LEJIS (Law Enforcement Justice Information Sharing Network) and the Chester County Drug Task Force expands our abilities to investigate time consuming and complicated crimes by making additional manpower, expensive equipment and resources available to us. EBTPD Officers participate in and conduct community activities which include station tours, speaking engagements, drug education classes, fingerprinting services and the East Brandywine Township Community Day Celebration. This is a brief overview of the Police Department. Please feel free to call us or stop by at any time for information or to just say hi. As fall descends upon us, the air gets crisper, the leaves are changing, and for the police officers of Chester County, it’s “beard-growing season” again!! Blue Beards for Charity, an initiative spearheaded by dedicated police officers in Chester County, is proud to announce the launch of our annual charity event.
Blue Beards for Charity was founded with a simple yet powerful mission: to give back to the community that we serve and protect every day. In the spirit of camaraderie and community support, participating officers make a charitable donation and are granted permission to grow facial hair throughout the months of October and November.
This year, Blue Beards for Charity remains committed to its core mission of supporting local causes. This event will continue to raise funds for four outstanding local charities: Unite for Her, The Sambuco Children’s Education Fund, A Child’s Light, and the Chester County Crime Victims Center.
In 2022, our charitable efforts achieved a remarkable milestone, raising over $60,000 to support these essential causes. With the continued growth of this event and the participation of even more officers in 2023, we are confident that this year’s efforts will surpass our previous achievements.
All donations can be sent to Blue Beards for Charity and funds will be dispersed at a publicized event at the end of November. Every participating department will be invited to attend this meaningful event.
Blue Beards for Charity is eager to expand its impact by inviting the private sector to join us in this noble endeavor. We encourage individuals, businesses, and organizations alike to contribute to our mission of making a positive difference in the community. We are pleased to announce that all donations are tax-deductible.
If you are interested in donating or learning more about our charity, please visit Willistown PD at their station, 688 Sugartown Road, Malvern PA 19355, or reach to Lt. Jeff Heim at [email protected].

Traffic Alert! On Sunday morning the annual Marshman Triathlon will occur in Marsh Creek State Park. The bike portion of the triathlon exits the park and uses the surrounding roadways. We wanted to alert motorists that this will be occuring. No roads will be closed, however we ask that motorists use caution and be considerate of the racers, yielding to them when possible. The route map is below, and basically is a circular route around Marsh Creek Lake: Park Road, right on Moore, right on Dorlan's Mill, right on Creek (282), right on Marshall, continue straight onto Little Conestoga, right on Park and back into MCSP. The first swimmers hit the water at 7:30AM, and the leaders will be exiting the park for the bike portion a few minutes later. The bike course closes at 9:30AM. The swim and run portions of the race are held entirely within MCSP.

NEW INFORMATION ON THE MANHUNT FOR DANELO CAVALCANTE

At approximately 8:00 p.m. on September 11, 2023, a motorist reported to law enforcement that a male was crouched near the wood line on the south side of Fairview Road, west of Route 100. The motorist turned her vehicle around to verify what was seen, but the individual had disappeared into the woods.

Troopers in the area began forming a perimeter around the sighted area, and a Border Patrol Tactical Team in the immediate vicinity went directly to the sighted area where they discovered footprints in mud which were an identical match to the prison shoes that Danelo Cavalcante wore. A track was initiated, and shortly after finding the footprints, both prison shoes were located.

Information was received from another resident in the immediate area that a pair of work boots had been stolen from a porch.

The tracking of Danelo Cavalcante continued in a northern direction. At approximately 10:10 p.m., a call was received from a resident on Coventryville Road, indicating a short Hispanic male, wearing dark pants and no shirt, had entered an opened garage while the homeowner was inside. The male grabbed a .22 rifle with a scope that was leaning in the corner of the garage. The homeowner drew a pistol and fired at Cavalcante as he fled with the rifle.

The Pennsylvania State Police responded and secured the scene immediately. At this time, a green sweatshirt and a white t-shirt, believed to have been worn by Cavalcante, were discovered near the edge of the driveway. The perimeter was expanded to include that area. Overnight searches were conducted around the clock by tactical teams from multiple agencies, including the Pennsylvania State Police, Border Patrol, ATF, FBI, US Marshals, and Chester County law enforcement.

Aviation assets, canine units, mounted patrols, and numerous other assets have been mobilized and are currently operating in the search area. Upwards of 500 law enforcement officers are engaged in securing the perimeter and conducting searches. Additional resources have been mobilized, and an extended operating period is planned if necessary.

Cavalcante is considered armed and extremely dangerous. He is now armed with a .22 caliber rifle with a scope and a flashlight mounted on it. Throughout the night, residents within a 3-mile radius of the search area were sent multiple reverse 911 calls and messages, and information was posted to social media by the Pennsylvania State Police in order to keep the public informed and safe. All affected schools were notified immediately in the early morning of September 12, 2023, and the decision was made to close the Owen J. Roberts School District for the day.

The current perimeter includes PA 23 to the north, PA 100 to the east, Fairview and Nantmeal Roads to the south, and Iron Bridge and County Park Roads to the west.

The Pennsylvania State Police are asking that all residents in the area remain vigilant – please check your surroundings and belongings, lock your doors, and check your cars.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts should call 911, PA State Police command post at 1-877-926-8332 or anonymously contact the PA Crime Stoppers at 1-800-4PA-TIPS (8477) or submit a tip online at https://www.p3tips.com/tipform.aspx?ID=107.

Have a safe and Merry Christmas from EBTPD
Thank you to everyone who donated! You all came through again for another successful Toys for Tots.
Recently the department has received several reports of fraudulent phone calls from a person claiming to be from the Social Security Administration. One of these callers attempted to put the victim on a conference call with the “Brandywine Police.” The department phone number then appeared on the victim’s caller ID. The Social Security Administration will never call you and ask for personal information. No government agency will call you and threaten you with arrest unless you pay them in gift cards. The East Brandywine Township Police will not call you in an attempt to threaten you with arrest unless you pay us in gift cards. Please remain vigilant and never give your personal information out over the phone.
Just a reminder that the pick-up date for Toys for Tots is next Thursday, 12/09/2021.
