Operation Greenlight's mission is to show support for veterans of all military conflicts and raise awareness about the challenges faced by many veterans and the resources that are available at the county, state, and federal levels to assist veterans and their families.
From November 6-13, individuals can participate by simply changing one light bulb in their house to a green bulb. This can be an exterior light that neighbors and passersby see or an interior light that sparks a conversation with friends.
By shining a green light, you let veterans know that they are seen, appreciated, and supported. FREE GREEN LIGHTBULBS ARE AVAILABLE AT BOROUGH HALL WHILE SUPPLIES LAST!

November 6, 2023, come Join us for the Lighting of the Historic Chester County Courthouse to Honor Veterans.

Operation Greenlight's mission is to show support for veterans of all military conflicts and raise awareness about the challenges faced by many veterans and the resources that are available at the county, state, and federal levels to assist veterans and their families.

How to Participate
Operation Green Light is about shining a light on the service of our veterans. While studies show the vast majority of Americans support America’s veterans, too often that support is not seen or felt by servicemen and women. Operation Green Light aims to change that.

Individuals
From November 6-13, individuals can participate by simply changing one light bulb in their house to a green bulb. This can be an exterior light that neighbors and passersby see or an interior light that sparks a conversation with friends.

By shining a green light, you let veterans know that they are seen, appreciated, and supported. Be sure to share your participation on social media using the hashtag . Please share some photos of your greenlight being proudly displayed by emailing them to: [email protected]

Contact Chester County Veterans Affairs Office at 610-344-6375 or [email protected] for more information on where to pick up Free Green Lights.

Today, Thursday, October 19th, the Downingtown Police Association presented the Downingtown Library with a donation of $800. During the months of September through December, any officer wanting to wear a beard made a financial contribution to the Downingtown Police Association. The Association then chose four different nonprofits to donate to. The Downingtown Library is so grateful to be the chosen recipient for this generous donation for the month of October!

Shown left to right, starting in the back are Officer Connor Lawler, Sgt. Brandon Seibert, Officer Andrew Pownall, Mayor Phil Dague. Shown in the front row, left to right are Francine Dague, Downingtown Library Trustee, Emily Interrante, Downingtown Library Trustee, and Officer Kevin Coyle.
