I think I found our tile! I did an image search and found this tile on an auction site. When I realized it could be an Ernest A. Batchelder tile, I looked at one of his catalogs from 1923 and found our thistle design.

What do you think? Is that it?

This fireplace project seemed so easy…until it wasn’t. A year and a half ago it was boarded up and we unearthed two very cool tiles during the demo.

We’ve been wanting to put the original tiles back where they belong, but the mantle (not original) wouldn’t allow it. So…off with the mantle!

Check out the reveal and let us know what we should do next. Seriously, we have no idea! Help us!
