NIMBY NIMBY is a shared
coworkspace where artists and hobbyists can work on their own projects or collaborate with others. www.nimbyspace.org What is NIMBY?

NIMBY is a do-it-yourself (DIY), hacker-space, maker-space, morale shop, adult playground and shared industrial art space that provides artists, craftspeople and the entrepreneur a place to create, innovate, and collaborate. Within the Town of Doyle, space can be found for metal-workers, jewelers, sculptors, painters, set and prop builders, musicians, hobbyists, engineers, plumbers, electricians,

computer programmers, machinists, farmers and tinkerers creating projects both large and small. Steel shipping containers are the building blocks of the NIMBY shop, and are centered around shared common work areas, including an outdoor wonderland for projects that need open air. NIMBY Philosophy

Just be here and do something - we don't care if you finish it. Get along with everyone and clean up after yourself. At that point the empty space where your television or other social maladies lurk is filled and the world is a happier place. What can I do at NIMBY? Share space and tools to help offset the cost of starting a business or making an idea, or even a prototype, come to life. Rent short-term and long-term work or office- space. Incubate your nano-biz. Conspire and collude. Reshore America! Why Rent at NIMBY? Be a good neighbor. If you work strange hours, have a small garage, and make a little too much noise or cause the earth to shake, then come rent a space at NIMBY before your neighbors say “Not In My Back Yard”. It’s the right thing to do. http://www.facebook.com/nimbyspace

Ok, I'm haven't been posting as often as I should. I still want to build a shop so we can host NIMBY like projects out here. Of course I need to reinvent an income out here in the sticks. I will likely come up with a fund raiser of sorts to get the foundation poured so we can put up the building. I have the building and the land. I just need a nudge. I believe the town of Doyle could someday be an affordable artsy crafty town. For now I still rent the little store out and turned half of it in to an office for the non profit that hosts the Doyle Days event on July 24-25. Please join us. Once again not a money making venture. We just want to entertain the kids and have some fun. The good news is that the weather is getting better although the economy may not. So once again I'm going to share my Gofund me. If you want to help me keep up the fight. I am currently running on empty. It is getting difficult to navigate things when I'm just chasing late fees. Any funds collected go toward fixing equipment and keeping the lights on. I already own the properties and building. As usual the equipment all needs some repair. We will take care of that.. I'm just trying to keep the ball rolling. Of course I have primitive space to build projects if you are adventurous enough. This is hard to ask. Help is needed because I don't know how to make a reasonable income out here until I get back only feet. Of course if you have ideas that might help PM. me. https://www.gofundme.com/f/supportNIMBY Thank you in advance and I really hope to see you guys this summer.

Is anyone on their way to Harbor Freight and then to Burning man today? I broke a propane regulator on the way to deliver an art car I've been working on. I'm looking to have a generator supply line delivered to 4-G. I think to RT812 is very common but they need it to power the new genes I put in the car. Call me before I make a three hundred mile trip to fix my mistake. Florida Man Fan Boat needs your help.

Do you miss the good old days? We are over budget, understaffed and behind schedule. We have a couple of really fun BM projects being built in the same situation. All in Doyle. We are camping, eating and working together to pull this all off. Of course we are all older and more mature so we have showers and kitchens and more common sense I think. If you want to come up and give us a hand and have some fun PM me. Please consider a small donation to Doyle Days to help us pull off our first year(that we are in charge)We might even organize a trip on the back roads to BRC after Aug 2.. Come have some old school fun.

We have taken on the task of hosting Doyle Days this year. A tiny, long time festival in Doyle Ca on August 1-2. We of course despite our combined and collective experience are running into all kinds of challenges. First and foremost is insurance. We need yearly liability for our new non profit and its agents. We would also like to be able to host multiple small events during the year. ie Easter Egg hunt or chilling cook off. Small time stuff to build community and maybe raise a little money for brightening up our little town. Who do you know? What can you share? How do we do it?

As many of you already know, We have taken on the production of this years "Doyle Days" August 2. It's been a rough start having to start a new non profit and build a new "A team" . Obviously we are behind the ball quite a bit. I have decided to set up a "Command Center" at "Stingie's Station" I'm assuming most of my office equipment will still work after being heated up in the fire and baked in the sun for a few years. However, I don't expect any of the computers to be worth anything. They were old when I put them in storage in 2018. We should have our "Tax deductible" status any day and look forward to using it. Does any one have a Mac or PC they would donate? Of course we will be looking for helpers, entertainers and vendors as well but that's still a couple days out.
