The Rotary Club of Doylestown exists to encourage, foster, and implement the ideals of Rotary International in our local community and throughout the world in ways that enhance Whether you are a veteran volunteer or new to community service, we are looking for people like you. Our club meets the first 3 Wednesdays of each month at the Water Wheel Restaurant at 5:30 PM. Each person orders what they

wish and pays for their own meal. At 6:00 PM the meeting starts with our flag salute, welcoming of guests, and club business. The Doylestown Rotary Young Professionals (ages 21-39), meet on the 4th Wednesday evening, 6-7:30pm, at Harper and Penny's inside the Main Street Markeplace, 22 South Main Street in Doylestown. On June 17th, Gail Linenberg and John Ortolf presented the year in review and said thanks to the many who stepped up to help lead the club. Barry Millham received the Rising Star Award and DG Mary Cook brought exchange students to honor Max Rose’s 40 years of managing our club’s exchange program. Max also received a certificate of appreciation and a gift certificate to his favorite restaurant as a small token of our club’s thanks. Board Members received a free drink token and our heartfelt thanks!

Additionally, our club welcomed Dennis Parenti and Mary Beth Roberts into club membership, and inducted our incredible server, Meredith, into honorary club membership.

What a fun year we had, with so much support. Hugs, Rotarians!🥂

As co-Presidents of the Doylestown Club, John and I had the honor of choosing the “Rotarian of the Year”. However, we could not come to an agreement because there was more than one person who stood out. So, meet the three “Rotarians of the 2025-26 Year”: Vienna Laurendi, Ro Molyneux, and Karen Lasorda.

These women have consistently shown up for Rotary, be it meetings, club service, or fundraisers and they have welcomed leadership roles. We are so lucky to have their commitment to our club. Thank you, Rotary role models!!

Last Wednesday evening, our exchange student, Delfi, summarized her year here in pictures. Seeing the whole year fly by made us realize what an activity-packed year she had. Her Rotary jacket has momentos from people she met and places she went- so it weighs about 10 lbs! Soon she will be back in Argentina, her life altered forever by her experiences here.

Tiye Abange, daughter of clubmember Rose, started an Interact Club at Abington Friends School and it has about 50 members. With her leadership two years in a row, the club will be on a very sound footing. She organized a conference about personal justice last Saturday and there was standing room only!

Hearing from these two young women, both taking chances and seeking new experiences, gives us such hope for the future.

The District 7430 Rotary Exchange year is ending this month, so a tearful farewell followed a delicious lunch and pool party. Some of these students made life-long friends and have an American family, to boot! That’s the Rotary Way.

Former Freeman’s Auction House VP and a favorite past club president, Amy Parenti, presented a mini Antique Road Show, complete with prizes. Exhibiting offerings that sold from $50 to $3,500,000, she challenged us to guess the selling prices and we were (collectively) surprisingly good at it. Perhaps we spend too much time binging PBS?

As a thank you to our speakers, we usually gift them an anniversary Mercer tile. But as a long time clubmember, she rated something special: a new set of wheels! (BTW, no club money was used for this).

We come for the hairnets! Some just know how to wear them….Joe Blei brought his kiddos, but missed the photo shoot. Thanks, club members for helping to pack enough food to feed 202 children every day for a year. What a difference 250 people can make in less than 2 hours at the Feed my Starving Children meal packing event. We’ll sign up again next year!

Two Rotary exchange students carried our banner into the longest running Memorial Day parade in the nation! They were thrilled to lead 10 cars carrying veterans from past wars, some who were not able to walk the parade route. One car carried a veteran from World War II, who is currently 99 1/2 years old. Thanks to Fred Beans for loaning us the cars and thank you to members of our club for driving them.
