Memorial Day Weekend Safety Message🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

As we head into Memorial Day weekend, the Central Bucks Regional Police Department would like to wish everyone a safe and enjoyable holiday. This weekend marks the unofficial start of summer, and we know many families will be traveling, gathering, and enjoying outdoor activities.

A few reminders to help keep our community safe:

• Please drive responsibly. Expect heavier traffic and allow extra travel time.
• Never drive under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
• Wear your seatbelts, and ensure children are properly secured in car seats.🚗
• Slow down in neighborhoods—more children will be outside playing.⛹️‍♀️🤸⛹️🤸‍♀️
• If you’re hosting a gathering, make plans to ensure guests get home safely.
• As always, if you see something concerning, don’t hesitate to contact us.

Most importantly, we ask everyone to take a moment to honor the men and women who have given their lives in service to our country. Their sacrifice is the reason we observe this day.
Have a safe and meaningful Memorial Day weekend! 🚓👮‍♀️👮

National Senior Fraud Awareness Day 2026 is observed on Friday, May 15, 2026, to raise awareness about scams targeting older adults. 👩‍🦳👨‍🦳👵👨‍🦳

The day aims to educate older adults, caregivers, and the public about common fraudulent schemes and to promote strategies for protecting seniors from financial exploitation. 💰

The observance focuses on preventing financial abuse and ensuring the safety of elderly residents. Seniors are often targeted by:
Phone scams: Fraudsters impersonate government officials or companies to solicit personal information or money.

Identity theft: Criminals use stolen personal information to access accounts or create new ones without consent.

Financial exploitation: Scammers may pose as caregivers or financial advisors to gain trust and exploit seniors’ resources.

Online and investment scams: Including fake charities, phishing, and high-return investment schemes.

Raising awareness helps seniors recognize warning signs, avoid risky situations, and seek help if they become victims.

Individuals can observe National Senior Fraud Awareness Day by
Educating seniors about common scams and safe financial practices.

Sharing resources such as the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), National Center on Elder Abuse, AARP and state adult protective services for victims.

Hosting workshops or webinars on financial literacy, retirement planning, and fraud prevention. 🧑‍💼👩‍💼

Spreading awareness through social media campaigns, community events, or newsletters to inform families and caregivers.

By participating, communities can help protect seniors from financial loss, emotional distress, and long-term consequences of fraud.

Remember, our senior community has worked hard and saved to live out the "golden years" with little to no stress about finances or living expenses, let's help keep them holding onto that vision. 💸💰💵

Our police officers are here to help with any questions or concerns you may have about calls, texts or emails received. Never send crypto, gift cards or cash to any request without double checking with a trusted family member or officer of the law NO MATTER WHAT THE CALLER says!!!

National Police Week is celebrated this week. President Kennedy’s decree was to honor the men and women who risk their lives every day in the line of duty. It is also a time for police officers to honor their fallen colleagues, make sure those surviving them are supported, as well as to remember their commitment to keeping people safe. Citizens and civilians can also celebrate the day by showing some love 💙💛❤️and gratitude to the policemen around them. National Police Week is all about honor, gratitude, remembrance, servitude, and peer support. We thank those of you in the community that support us each and every day and make us feel valued and appreciated. 👮‍♀️👮‍♂️🚓

This week, Meet the Team Monday is proud to present Corporal Tropiano.

Corporal Tropiano thought he'd join the Military when he grew up.

Instead, he decided to become an officer because he was surrounded by friends and family who are in law enforcement. This gave him an inside view of the job and the life they lived which made him very interested in this line of work. 👮👮

Corporal started with this line of work when he was 32 years old. He has been with CBRPD for the past six years. Prior to becoming a police officer, he worked as a diesel mechanic.

The best thing about being an officer is engaging with the community and being able to help people in a moment of crisis.

To de-stress from work, Corporal goes to the gym and spends time with family. 💪🏋️‍♂️

His hobbies are cooking on a smoker, going to concerts and sporting events.

Corporal loves all Philly sports teams. 🦅⚾️🏈🏒

The advice that he would give others interested in wanting to become a police officer is to prepare yourself mentally and physically for a demanding yet rewarding career.

Corporal's favorite saying in life is "sometimes nothing good happens to you because you are the good that happens to others"💙💛❤️
