As the Bucks County Prothonotary’s Office, our role is to process PFA filings and help ensure that individuals seeking protection can navigate the court process and have their petitions handled efficiently. The Sheriff’s Office plays the critical enforcement role—serving PFA orders and helping ensure that those protections are put into action.
A 97% clearance rate is an important measure of that work, and I’m proud to work alongside Sheriff Ceisler and the many dedicated professionals who play a role in protecting people in our community.
Different roles. One shared mission: keeping Bucks County residents safe. 💛
The Bucks County Sheriff's Office is resolutely committed to protecting survivors of domestic violence to the best of our ability. We also constantly strive to improve our performance.
A Protection From Abuse Order (PFA) is Pennsylvania’s version of a restraining order and the first step to protecting some of Bucks County’s most vulnerable residents. Our expanded PFA team's diligent work serving Protection From Abuse orders resulted in a 97% clearance rate this June, up from 78% in June of last year.
