VOLUNTEERING AT THE TRI-STATE DISABLED VETERANS BASS TRAIL TOURNAMENT ON THE CHARLES RIVER

Rise & Shine ... an early morning start to travel to the Newton Yatch Club to help the anglers in and out of the boats today during the Tri State Disabled Veterans Bass Trail Annual Tournament on the Charles River in Boston MA.

NK Patches from the Nam Knights MC, Boston ,Nam Knights of America MC - Appalachian Chapter and our Merrimack Valley chapter assisted more than 15 anglers onto the river today for a perfect day of fishing.

It was a tremendously successful day for everyone, the organizers, hosts at the Newton Yatch Club, the volunteers who provided the boats, and those that got a chance to spend the day casting, catching, and competing in the first of three local Bass Trail Tournaments.

Great work by all.

REMEMBER ALL YEAR LONG

The Field of Flags on Captain John Ogonowski Memorial Square is being retired today and returned to stowage until next year.

As one of our patched members said, "Although the display is only up for a short while, we Remember Throughout The Year".

Together with the Dracut American Legion Post 315 we normally erect the display and memorial wreaths the week prior to Memorial Day and retire them the weekend after. A practice consistent with the National Cemeteries.

We hope that the display reminded everyone who passed of the True purpose for Memorial Day and the many servicemen and women who stood guard over Freedom and Liberty.

THE ROAD TO REMEMBRANCE

This past weekend the chapter covered some 965 miles, mostly in the rain & cold, driving to Washington DC to Honor & Remember our fallen and absent on Memorial Day.

Meeting up with hundreds of other Nam Knights Patches and Ladies from up and down the East Coast (and beyond) for our annual Memorial Ride and Coalition.

Taking the chapter on the road builds the comradery in ways you can't imagine.

Plowing through 10 hours of rain soaking road absolutely solidifies it!

WWII Veteran "Call to Action" Internment

Earlier this week, Professor and the Prospect joined our NK Boston Chapter to honor the legacy and service of WWII Navy Veteran John Bernard Arnold in Taunton Massachusetts.

The crew was out most of the day and racked up 170 miles in the process.

Rest in Peace Mr Arnold.

On this Saturday before Memorial Day weekend, it may well have been the best weather we've encountered yet this year. Blue skies and 80 degrees.

Our crew has been out since very early this morning with preparations for the Memorial Day Observance.

You may have seen our teams moving around town, posting Wreaths and Flags at more than 30 Memorials & Squares.

Immediately following that details, we regrouped and assembled the Field Of Flags on the green space at the Ogonowski Memorial.

It looks amazing!

We were then onto the support the Sons of the American Legion Squadron 315 at their Coin Drop & Information Booth at the Market Basket on Ferry Lane in Lowell.

The afternoon was consumed with this month's post membership meeting and other urgent business as our post begins to prepare for the summer meeting break.

Long day, but great work by the whole chapter today!
