I want to give a huge thank you to the Dracut Dpw. I received two emails today about the incredible job you guys are doing.
Turkey and tree removals 😳you guys do it all.

“I felt the need to send this email to let you know that you have an AMAZING crew of men that performed tree work today. They were absolutely wonderful.
Honestly, there are not enough words to describe how professional they were.
They did an exceptional job removing a tree that fell and removed a very tall pine that was at risk of falling over. Both Foreman - Steve/Steve are the nicest guys and were right on the ball taking care and scheduling this job.
The crew that came here were so professional, kind, and courteous. They did such a great job, you wouldn't even know that a tree had fallen and one was removed. Excellent, excellent work.

You should be proud of your DPW guys, because they are simply the best!”

Hi Jesse,

I can't thank you enough for helping. I understand that the DPW does not do
anything like this and I am forever grateful for their service.

Stephen Johnson was exceptionally understanding and kind. His workers showed
up and were also very profession and extremely kind.

Thank you once again for your help in resolving this.

Enjoy your weekend,

Good morning Dracut. I hope everyone is doing well during these difficult days. Please stay strong and continue to follow the safety measures given to us from our public health officials.
Here’s a quick update from the Board:

For their safety, Town employees continue to work from home or in separate areas of Town Hall to ensure business stays running as normally as possible. Phone calls will be answered and mail is being processed. Inspections will continue and some business can be done on an appointment basis.

Our public safety departments, Police and Fire, have done an amazing job keeping us safe and informed. Every day they selflessly report to duty and are on the front lines protecting our residents.

Dave Oullette and the Health dept also continue to do inspections and field hundreds of phone calls. Dave and his team deserve a huge thank you for everything they are doing!!
Playgrounds and basketball courts continue to be closed. For your safety, please refrain from gathering at these areas. Continue to practice social distancing in neighborhoods and walking trails as well.

Starting March 30th, Republic Trash Services will cease bulk item pickup and overflow trash bag pickups. Their reasoning is to protect their workers from unnecessarily handling trash and limiting exposure. This will be an ongoing conversation and discussed at our next meeting.
In an effort to keep business moving, regulatory boards have begun to meet again in a virtual format.

I have tentatively scheduled a Board of Selectmen meeting for April 21st. The purpose of the extended timeframe is to allow businesses to do the required advertising necessary when applying for a special permit. The Manager and I will begin reaching out to the applicants and coordinating schedules. I anticipate that we will return to our regular meeting schedule in May. We will continue to make every effort to support our local businesses and our positive momentum.

Thank you all for your patience. We will surely get through this together. Stay safe and God bless.
