Westpoint Park Help us build Westpoint Park and Playground in Drakes Branch, Va. This facility will enable us to improve the quality of life in Charlotte County.

The Charlotte County Recreation Association (CCRA) is in the process of raising funds for our outdoor basketball court and park facility that will be located on Westpoint Stevens Rd in Drakes Branch,Va. Property has been purchased for the project but more funds will be needed for development and equipment.We have provided youth basketball in Charlotte County for the past 13 years.Our organization

currently relies on our public school facilities for games and practices and other activities, however there are times when these facilities are not available.This project will allow us to further our activities during Summer months.It will also allow us to incorporate activities for older teens that are aged out of the present basketball league.This facility will be closely monitored and strictly controlled.We currently offer basketball programs for youth ages 7-14 yrs old. However, because of limited gym facilities we are unable to expand the age groups.We would also like to add playground equipment to the site. All this is needed to help our youth combat boredom and offer a wholesome activity to steer them clear of trouble.Your assistance will be greatly appreciated as we cannot succeed without public help. We are not County affiliated as we are a 501 c 3 non profit organization. Our County does not have an official County operated recreation association.This can be your way to help build a better community. Theis park will be operated by The Charlotte County Recreation Association, which is a private non-profit.Remember this is still a work in progress project. We're off to a good start but we need more donations and help.

It's that time of year again. The non profit Charlotte County Rec Association will be holding coed youth basketball sign ups for ages 5-18 this Saturday 12/2/23 from 10:00 am until 12:30 pm. Location is the new Drakes Branch Fire Station on Main St. Cost is $50.00 per participant. If more than one participant is from the same household it will be $45.00 for each additional. A copy of birth certificates will be needed for first time participants. Do not bring your original as these will need to be retained in our files.

Congratulations to the fine bunch of 13-15 yr old young men that represented Charlotte County in the Substance abuse prevention basketball tournament in South Boston as well as coach Nick Morton and his assistant. They brought the championship home. So proud of them all.
