As today comes to a close and the clock strikes midnight we'll have a new line of officers take effect. However, we like to recognize 2 individuals for their dedication. First is Daniel Egburtson a past chief and served recently as an assistant chief. Dan has been, and continues to offer a great deal of knowledge, time, and effort to the department. The second is Howard Leach who has served multiple times as Chief and assistant chief. Howard will continue on in his new role as President, and as our Haz-Mat Captain which is something he is very knowledgeable and passionate about. We like to thank both of you for all your hard work and dedication to the community in your roles as Chief Officers!!!

We're very proud of our response times by our members. Response times is from the time we are dispatched until we arrive on scene. Our members are not stationed at our station around the clock so we're coming from home, work, activities with our families etc... Under the NFPA 1720 we fall into the rural zone as the Town of Torrey in which we serve is under 500 people per square mile. We are far exceeding that, even beating a suburban zone. Note: February numbers are higher due to winter weather conditions that delay our response. We like to thank all our members who answer the call in a safe efficient manner to provide our community what they need during an emergency. So far this year we're at 46 calls with an average response time of 7 mins and 25 seconds.

We've had our new logo up a little over a month now and a few have asked "what's with the Roadrunner"? We'll we decided to honor a little part of our community past that you may be unaware of. Many years ago when the Dresden Elementary School was open at the current day location of Abtex at 89 Main St in Dresden they had a mascot of the Roadrunner. One of our members was in a Penn Yan school and noticed a display case for the old Dresden Elementary School and seen the Roadrunner. We as members thought it would be a great way to honor the past, and carry on the tradition by officially making The Roadrunner the mascot of the Dresden Volunteer Fire Department
