We like to congratulate our members who successfully completed Pump Ops class tonight for a totally of 24 hours each. Ryan Bailey, Brian Hollister, Jay Hollister, Curvin Zimmerman, Larry Zimmerman, and Tim Zimmerman. Great Job!!!!

Tonight members of the department practiced pump operations. We hooked to a hydrant with ER-22. Ran LDH (5" large diameter hose) off ER-22 into a manifold. Off of the manifold we ran 3" into E-20 simulating a fill site. We ran the deck gun off E-20 and once E-20 got to 1/4 tank of water members would utilize the manifold to fill E-20 again. Members rotated throughout each station to become efficient with each job.

Have a Happy and Safe 4th of July. Dresden had our Kubota, R3 with a float, and E-20 in Branchport Keuka Park Fire Department parade today.

Tonight members had driver training on our truck ER-22. We focused more on technical aspects of driving such as serpentine through cones. Backing up with barriers on the passenger side requiring more use of passenger mirror. Utilizing blindside backing and relying on your spotter.

It is with Great sadness that the Penn Yan Fire Department shares the passing of Past Chief Bart Winslow.
Bart joined the Ellsworth Hose Company of PYFD in July of 1970 and was a Life member with 55 years of service.
Bart served as Chief from 1983 to 1985.
