Burke Center for Youth Burke Center for Youth was opened in 1973 as a residential treatment center in Driftwood, Texas. We serve boys ages 10-17 with behavior issues.

Burke Center expanded to include a Foster and Adoption Agency with 3 locations in south Texas. Celebrating 50 Years in Driftwood on April 15, the Burke Center for Youth was opened in 1973 as a residential treatment center providing therapeutic experiences and treatment services in Driftwood. The BCFY has been home to over 4000 boys and youth since its opening. Presently, boys between the ages of 1

0 - 17 and in Texas foster care, begin a complex healing process that includes experiential therapy (individual, group, equine), and education at the on-site UT Charter School. Through the generous support of the local community, the BCFY sits on a tranquil ranch-style setting with 55 acres composed of multiple homes, a full gymnasium, dining hall, school house, greenhouse, barn, horse arena, swimming pools, and various support buildings that are uniquely designed to offer experiential activities to staff and residents that include guitar, piano, auto shop, wood shop, welding, creative and culinary arts, horticulture, and all types of sports-related activities. We’re always looking for volunteers to help care for our 55-acre property. You can also get involved through our Burke Mentor Program—spending time with the boys at Pathfinders Ranch, providing a consistent, positive role model in their lives.
