While most people were enjoying a beautiful Saturday, the volunteer members of Drummond Fire and Rescue were investing their time in training to better serve others.

Today’s training focused on pump operations, and Steve Adamski of Big Water Fire Apparatus helped make us better prepared to serve our community and neighboring communities.

These men and women come from all walks of life, but they share a commitment to being prepared when the public needs assistance most. Their willingness to give up personal time for training reflects the dedication and strength of our volunteer team.

We extend a special thank you to Steve for spending his Saturday with us, sharing his knowledge, and helping us strengthen our pump operations and response capabilities.

To every volunteer who gives time, energy, and heart to serving others: thank you for standing ready when it matters most.

🔥 What a Day in Drummond! 🔥

After a 13-year hiatus, yesterday we brought back the Drummond Firemen’s Picnic, and with our beautiful new Drummond Lake Park Pavilion completed, it only seemed fitting to bring the picnic back along with it!

This year’s picnic was a much smaller venue than it was in years past, but I think that turned out to be part of what made the day so enjoyable. It was relaxed, it was fun, and it gave our members and the community a chance to simply visit, eat some great food, enjoy the park, and have a good time together.

I want to take a moment to give a huge thank you to all of the members of Drummond Fire & Rescue who sacrificed their Saturday and put in countless hours before the event to make everything happen. Events like this don’t just come together on their own. It takes a dedicated group of volunteers willing to give their time and work together, and once again our members stepped up and made us proud.

A very special thank you also goes out to the wonderful members of our community who stepped up to the plate and brought some truly awesome side dishes, salads, desserts, dips and more. The amount of food and support was incredible!

And finally, thank you to everyone who came out and spent the day with us. Seeing so many people enjoying the new pavilion, sharing a meal, visiting with neighbors and friends, and simply enjoying a beautiful summer day in Drummond truly warmed my heart.

Yesterday was a great reminder of what makes our little community so special. ❤️

And from the conversations already taking place, it sounds like the Drummond Firemen’s Picnic just might be back again next year! 🚒🔥

From all of us at Drummond Fire & Rescue — THANK YOU! We couldn’t have done it without our volunteers, our community, and everyone who came out to support us.

🚒 The Bruce is on lawn duty! 💦🌱

The newest member of the fleet isn’t fighting fire today—it’s helping grow grass!

Our new pavilion lawn at Drummond Park is getting plenty of water from The Bruce as we do everything we can to get it ready for the Drummond Firemen’s Picnic next Saturday, August 8.

Will we have a lush green lawn by picnic day? Maybe not. But one thing is certain—it will be well watered! 😄

We can’t wait to welcome everyone to check out the new pavilion, enjoy some great food, and celebrate another great Drummond Firemen’s Picnic. We hope to see you there!

A couple of Drummond Fire members stopped in today to spend some extra time getting familiar with the newest truck in our fleet, The Bruce.

Our volunteers are always committed to sharpening their skills and staying ready to serve the community when the call comes. Thank you for your dedication and willingness to give your time even on your day off!

🚒 The Bruce is in good hands!

From all of us at Drummond Fire & Rescue, we wish everyone a happy, safe, and enjoyable 4th of July! Please celebrate responsibly, and don’t hesitate to call 911 if you have an emergency.

🇺🇸 Happy Independence Day! 🇺🇸

Drummond Fire & Rescue supports the local high school seniors with our annual scholarship program. Each year we select 2 scholarship recipients based on application responses, financial need, GPA, teacher recommendations and higher education plans.

Otter Bay Resort on Lake Owen held a fundraiser this spring with the proceeds designated to support our scholarship program. They raised an amazing $600!! Thank you Otter Bay Resort, staff and patrons.

Community partnerships like this are invaluable to the success of our community outreach programs. Interested in becoming a community partner? Contact us via email to discuss the many possibilities available.

🚒 Volunteer Firefighters Needed 🚒

One of the biggest challenges facing fire departments today is the shortage of volunteers.

As our current members grow older and retire, fewer people are stepping forward to fill their boots. It’s concerning to think about what emergency services may look like 10–15 years from now if this trend continues.

When a fire breaks out, a medical emergency occurs, or a neighbor needs help, who will answer the call?

If you have the time and ability, please consider volunteering in your community. You don’t need prior experience—we can provide training. What we need most are people willing to serve and make a difference.

Your community may need you someday. More importantly, your community needs you today.

Fire departments are struggling to recruit volunteer firefighters. Here's what you need to know about the nationwide shortage https://www.investigatetv.com/2026/06/11/volunteer-firefighter-shortage-threatens-communities-nationwide/
