186 total emergency calls for the month of August 2026, for the Tipton County Fire Department.

Since going live in 2020, this by far has been the busiest month to date. Adding the second station has proven to be very beneficial to those on the east side of Tipton County. We also respond to all emergencies in the City of Mason from the new location. Thank you to the Tipton County Commissioners for recognizing the need and making this happen for the citizens in the eastern portion of the County.

Thank you to all the responders that assisted with locating Mr. Billings. A great effort by all agencies.

For the last two days, Swiftwater teams from Tipton and Shelby County utilized the Mississippi River for several hours of water related training. We had four boats in the water refreshing on different rescue type maneuvers. Weather was great and with a good practice opportunity for everyone. We want to thank Shelby County Fire Department , Munford Fire Department , AtokA Fire Department for participating and learning skills together as a team.

Engine 42 arrived in Drummonds around 8pm last night. It was delayed as the delivery truck had issues in Kansas City during transport. It will remain at the Drummonds Fire Station while it is being outfitted and equipped with new firefighting tools. The new Engine looks great and matches the others perfectly. We are very proud and thankful that Tipton County has invested in their County Fire Department.

Our new Engine 42 was inspected last Friday, by Chief Piercey, at the Midwest Fire facility in Luverne Minnesota. The Engine was built exactly to the spec sheet, with everything exactly as requested. The Engine was picked up this morning at their facility for transport to Station 41, in Drummonds. It is expected to arrive at Station 41, first thing in the morning. While it is being temporarily stored at the Drummonds station, all of its new equipment will be installed and mounted to place it in service. All of its equipment was pre-purchased and has been in storage awaiting the arrival of the Engine. This installation process should take a few weeks. Once this has been completed, it will be assigned to Station 42 in the Charleston community.

Tipton County Fire Department wants to thank Midwest Fire, Project Manager Joe Hlushak, and his fabrication team for another well-built piece of fire equipment. This makes the fifth piece of equipment built and purchased from Midwest Fire.
