The contractor for the I-81 over West Foothills Drive project will have West foothills Drive closed on Monday 08/10 from 8:00PM to 6:00AM for bridge construction. The detours can be found below, along with the attached pictures of the mapped-out detours.

W. Foothills Drive Westbound Detour Route
Closure: Evening of August 10th (8PM-6AM)
1. Continue on SR 3021 (Old Turnpike Road)
2. Turn left onto T-441 (S Beisels Road)
3. Turn left onto SR 3034 (Butler Drive)
4. Turn left onto T-338 (Center Hill Road)
5. Turn right onto Mountain Road

W. Foothills Drive Eastbound Detour Route
Closure: Evening of August 10th (8PM-6AM)
1. Turn left onto T-338 (Center Hill Road)
2. Turn right onto SR 3034 (Conyngham Drums Road)
3. Turn right onto T-441 (S Beisels Road)
4. Turn right onto SR 3021 (Old Turnpike Road)
5. Continue to T-425 (W Foothills Dr)

PennDOT will be closing Interstate 81 in Luzerne County, Hazleton/Drums, from Monday, August 10, through Friday morning, August 14, 2026, from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM daily to perform a partial demolition of the bridge carrying Interstate 80 eastbound over Interstate 81. The detours can be found below, along with the attached pictures of the mapped-out detours.

Interstate 81 southbound:
Interstate 81 southbound to Exit 151B onto Interstate 80 westbound.
Interstate 80 westbound to Exit 256.
Turn left onto Route 93 south.
Turn right onto Tomhicken Road.
Turn left onto Interstate 81 southbound.

Interstate 81 northbound:
Interstate 81 northbound to Exit 151A onto Interstate 80 eastbound.
Interstate 80 eastbound to Exit 262.
Turn left onto Route 309 north.
Turn left onto Interstate 80 westbound.
Interstate 80 westbound to Exit 260B onto Interstate 81 northbound.

The Butler Township Park Program Starts Tomorrow, Monday, June 22! We are excited to welcome the kids! Please note that rain is currently in the forecast. While sign-in is usually held under the park pavilion, if it is raining, sign-in will move inside to the Butler Township Community Center Gymnasium. Please plan accordingly and have the kids dress for a fun first day, rain or shine!
