David Lee Finan, Sr., 72, of Independence, KY, passed away on Tuesday, October 3, 2023. He was a member of St. Augustine Church and a retired Assistant Police Chief for the city of Covington, KY. David was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and uncle. He was an avid auto racing fan and an all-around 'great guy'. David was a mentor to many people he worked with throughout law enforcement. He was preceded in death by his loving wife: Pamela S. Trenkamp Finan and grandchildren: Joseph William Finan and Mackenzie Kaitlin Finan. David is survived by his sons: Dave (Vikki) Finan, Jr. and Marty (Kerri) Finan; daughters: Jennifer (Mark) Lipson, Sally (Marko) Stefanides and Becky (Phil) Price; 6 grandchildren: Donovan Finan, Stephen Finan, Matthew Finan, Natalie (Matt) Rust, Arielle Lipson and Brigitte "Frank" Lipson; great-grandson: Jackson Rust, and brothers: Tim (late: Debbie) Finan, Dan (Karen) Finan and Joe (Lisa) Finan. Visitation will take place at Connley Brothers Funeral Home, 11 East Southern Avenue, Covington (Latonia), KY 41015 on Thursday, October 5, 2023 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Augustine Church, 1839 Euclid Avenue, Covington, KY 41014 on Friday, October 6, 2023 at 11:00 AM.
