At approximately 5:15 this evening, a major storm rolled through our area, bringing high winds and driving rain. The severe weather knocked out power to most of the town, bringing down numerous tree limbs and live power lines across our community.
​The DuBois Volunteer Fire Department went straight to work, responding to over 50 calls for service in just a 2½-hour period.
​I want to commend the incredible membership of the DuBois Fire Department. All 9 stations and 5 chiefs played a critical part in this response, working efficiently to handle the surge of emergencies, ensure public safety, and restore calm to the City. Your dedication and seamless teamwork during a crisis showed exactly what this department is made of.
Also a big thank you to the City Public Works department for the heavy equipment and manpower and als the Dispatchers of Clearfield 911 who processed more calls in a couple hours than some shifts do in a week.

​ A Reminder to Our Residents
​We urge everyone to continue using extreme caution:
​Stay away from downed lines: Always assume any downed power line is live and dangerous.
​Give crews room to work: Power companies are actively working to restore electricity across the City. Please give them and emergency vehicles plenty of space.
​Report hazards: Continue to report any immediate safety hazards.
