🎨 Join Us for a Fine Arts Celebration! 🎨

The DES and DMS Art Program invites families and community members to a special evening celebrating student creativity and artistic achievement.

Our art gallery will be open throughout the elementary school and commons beginning at 5:00 PM, showcasing the incredible talents of our students. This event highlights the strength of our arts education program and will include student awards presented by our art teacher.

Come out and support our young artists, explore their work, and celebrate the creativity that makes our schools so special! ✨

Congratulations to all of our scholarship recipients honored at last night’s District 300 Foundation Dinner and Ceremony!

This year marked a special milestone—the 20th anniversary of the Foundation Banquet. Over the past two decades, more than $1 million in scholarships has been awarded to support our students’ futures.

Thank you to everyone who has helped make this event possible year after year, and to our community for your continued support. Your generosity is truly making a difference!

🏆🍎 Congratulations to Our Teacher of the Year – Amanda Casey! 🍎🏆

We are proud to recognize Amanda as our Teacher of the Year!

Amanda has dedicated 26 years to education as a middle school 7th Grade English/Language Arts teacher, making a lasting impact on generations of students. A proud Du Quoin High School alumna, she has faithfully served Du Quoin Community Unit School District in a variety of roles, including 5–8 Title Reading, while spending the majority of her career inspiring students at the 7th grade Reading and Language Arts level.

She is a respected mentor, a strong advocate for faculty and staff, and—most importantly—a true champion for student learning and growth. Her passion for education and commitment to helping students succeed make her incredibly deserving of this honor.

✨ Fun Fact: Amanda’s favorite thing to do is spend time with her grandson, Sutton!
