🚒 While our members were enjoying Community Day at Supplee Park, Dublin Volunteer Fire Company remained ready to answer the call when emergencies arose.

Throughout the event, members responded to several incidents, including a reported apartment fire, a brush fire, and an elevator rescue.

The first call came in for a reported apartment fire in the 100 block of Middle Road. Chief 23 arrived on scene to find a first-floor apartment filled with smoke. Fortunately, the incident was determined to be a culinary mishap and crews from Engine 23 quickly ventilated the apartment complex and returned the build back to the residents.

Later in the afternoon, Engine 23 and Field 23 assisted the Perkasie Fire Company with a brush fire in the area of 3 Mile Run Road and Schoolhouse Road. The fire was reportedly started by downed power lines.

While Engine 23 was operating at the brush fire, Rescue 23, Engine 24 and Tower 79 were dispatched to the 100 block of North Main Street for an elevator rescue. As Rescue 23 arrived on scene, the elevator reset itself and the doors opened on the first floor, safely releasing the occupants.

After completing these incidents, our crews returned to Community Day to finish out the event and spend time with the community we proudly serve.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by to visit us today, and a special thank you to Station 24 and Station 79 for their assistance on the elevator rescue.

🚒 Serving our community—whether at the park or on an emergency scene.

🚒 Today at around 12:00 PM, Engine 23 was dispatched to assist Station 49 on a reported wires down incident that had ignited a brush fire. 🔥

Upon arrival, crews found fire extending up a steep embankment approximately 60 feet above the roadway. Firefighters worked to contain and extinguish the blaze while operating in challenging terrain. ⛰️
Field 23 also responded to assist with the incident.

Thanks to the quick response and teamwork of all crews involved, the fire was brought under control before it could spread further.

⚠️ As a reminder, always stay well clear of downed utility wires and immediately report them to 9-1-1. Never assume a wire is de-energized.

🚨 Early Morning Structure Fire – Dublin Borough 🚨

This morning, shortly before 5:00am, Engine 23 and Tanker 23 were dispatched to the 100 block of Maple Ave in Dublin Borough for a reported structure fire.

Upon arrival, crews were met with smoke and small flames from the basement. Firefighters acted quickly to locate and extinguish the fire, preventing it from spreading to the rest of the home.

The cause of the fire was determined to be an electrical short near combustible foam materials.

Plumstead Fire Company and Perkasie Fire Company were also dispatched to assist with fire.

🔥 Reminder: Electrical issues can escalate quickly—be mindful of overloaded circuits, damaged wiring, and storing combustible materials near electrical sources.

Great work by all crews involved.

🔥 Evening Brush Fire 🔥

Around 5:15pm this evening, Field 23 and Tanker 23 were dispatched to assist Station 34, Chalfont Fire Company on a brush fire in the area of Old Iron Hill Rd and Ferry Rd.

Crews operated on scene and flowed more than 3,500 gallons of water to bring the fire under control.

As a reminder, eastern Pennsylvania remains in an elevated wildfire risk period. Even though we’ve seen snow and recent rainfall, conditions can still allow fires to ignite and spread quickly. Spring is actually one of the peak wildfire seasons in Pennsylvania, as dry leaves, grasses, low humidity, and wind create ideal fuel conditions.

We typically remain in these elevated conditions through mid-May, until new vegetation growth and higher humidity levels help reduce fire risk.

We encourage everyone to use caution with any outdoor burning and always follow local regulations.

🐎 Horse Rescue 🐎

Shortly before 11:00 AM this morning, Engine 23 was dispatched on a special assignment to assist Plumsteadville Fire Company with a horse rescue in Plumstead Township.

Upon arrival, the Chief, Battalion Chief, and engine crew worked together with crews on scene to develop a plan to safely get Hugo back on his feet. Station 41, Point Pleasant Fire Company, was also requested to assist with additional manpower. After several coordinated attempts, Hugo was successfully lifted, regained his footing, and was guided back onto dry ground.

We’re glad we could assist Hugo and his owner out of a slippery situation. Incidents like this are a great reminder that our role in the community goes beyond emergency response—we’re here to help! Today, it wasn’t a cat in a tree… it was Hugo the horse stuck in the mud. 🚒🐴

Busy Week for Dublin Volunteer Fire Company

In the early morning hours of Tuesday, March 10th at 3:33 AM, the Dublin Volunteer Fire Company was dispatched to the 1000 block of Landis Rush Drive for a reported barn fire.

Chief 23 arrived to find a large barn heavily involved with fire throughout the structure. Additional mutual aid companies were requested to assist Dublin firefighters in bringing the blaze under control.

The barn was loaded with large quantities of hay, which made extinguishment particularly challenging. Hay fires can be difficult to fully extinguish because hot embers can work their way deep into the piles, allowing them to smolder and potentially reignite long after the main body of fire has been knocked down. Crews remained on scene working to ensure the fire was fully extinguished.

We would like to thank the many surrounding fire companies that assisted during this incident. The Bucks County Fire Marshal’s Office is currently investigating the cause of the fire.

Mutual Aid to Plumstead Township

Yesterday, Engine 23 was dispatched to assist the Plumsteadville Fire Company on a building fire in the 6100 block of Easton Road in Plumstead Township.

Firefighters arrived to find a large industrial building with fire being fueled by a natural gas service line, which had ignited following an incident involving an electrical transformer. Crews operated for over four hours, assisting with various firefighting and support operations.

We are always proud to assist our neighboring departments—just as they regularly come to support us when our community needs help.
