Attention Dublin-

Due to downed power lines, West Blackjack Street from Highland Avenue to US 377 Loop is currently closed. Our officers, Dublin Fire Department personnel, TxDOT crews, and others are out working together to detour traffic and keep everyone clear of the area.

Oncor crews are also on scene and working to restore power. At this time, we do not have an estimated time for power to be restored. We do know that two power poles will need to be replaced before the power can be restored.

July 12, 2026 — The Dublin Police Department believes accountability to our community is one of the most important cornerstones of our agency. We understand the importance of transparency and want to address the events that occurred on July 11, 2026.

The Dublin Police Department operates under local policies that guide our interactions and cooperation with federal immigration authorities, including Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). These policies are focused on individuals with prior criminal issues and are intended to ensure that all actions taken by our officers are lawful and consistent with our responsibilities to public safety.

The three individuals detained by Dublin Police Department during yesterday’s events were not members of our local community and had previous deportation-related issues. All actions taken were lawful and in accordance with local policy. We do not target local businesses or schools.

We are aware of a video circulating on social media involving an interaction between our officers and a citizen. The video being shared does not capture the entirety of the encounter. As with any incident involving our officers, we are committed to conducting a thorough internal review to ensure our actions align with department policies, professional standards, and the law.

Racism has no place in our community or within the Dublin Police Department. We are committed to ensuring every person is treated with dignity and respect. As part of our ongoing commitment to fairness and accountability, the officer involved, along with all Dublin Police Department officers, will receive additional training in cultural diversity and racial bias awareness.

The Dublin Police Department is here to serve and work with every member of our community. Victims of crime will never be asked about their immigration status when seeking assistance from our department. We have supported victims in the past through the U visa process and will continue to assist eligible victims in accessing available resources and protections.

Public safety depends on trust, cooperation, and partnership. We remain committed to working with our entire community and ensuring that every action taken by our officers is lawful, professional, and consistent with our mission to serve and protect.

***Update 4:15pm***

Representatives from TXDOT and the trucking company are on scene and awaiting a hazardous material crew to arrive to begin cleaning up the spill.

There are no concerns for the community at this time.

Officers are responding to a large milk spill on East Blackjack Street.

We are currently working with the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) and the trucking company involved to alleviate the issue and restore normal traffic flow as quickly and safely as possible.

Drivers are urged to reduce their speed, use caution when traveling through the area, and consider alternate routes if available.

Updates will be provided as the incident develops.

We are proud to partner with local, state and federal agencies as part of our work with the North Texas Internet Crimes Against Child Task!

Dublin PD was one of 91 law enforcement entities in Texas that participated in Operation Soteria Shield along with FBI Dallas’ North Texas Child Exploitation Task Force and the North Texas Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.

The coordinated law enforcement effort focused on rescuing children from online sexual exploitation and brought offenders to justice, resulting in 276 child exploitation arrests and the rescue of 89 children.

“Our agency was honored to assist with the FBI and our partners in the North Texas Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force during Operation Soteria Shield. Although we were one of the smallest agencies participating, we were proud to work alongside all agencies involved,” Dublin Director of Public Safety and Police Chief Cameron Ray said.

Though no arrests were made inside Erath County, which Ray said he considers a win, Dublin PD contributed through undercover online investigative efforts that resulted in arrests in the DFW metroplex.

We are proud to recognize Sergeant Jacob Ivie for being awarded a Life Saving Award at the June City Council meeting. This honor reflects his outstanding actions during a medical emergency while serving in his role as a School Resource Officer.

Through his quick thinking, professionalism, and decisive response, Sergeant Ivie took life-saving action that made a critical difference and ultimately helped save a life. His dedication to protecting and serving our community extends far beyond his daily responsibilities and exemplifies the highest standards of law enforcement.

As summer gets underway, we want everyone to enjoy their time outdoors safely. Recently, we have received multiple reports of children operating electric scooters and e-bikes without obeying traffic laws, including running stop signs, failing to yield, and pulling into traffic — leading to several close calls with vehicles.

Electric scooters and e-bikes are welcome in our community, but safety has to come first. Please talk with your children about following traffic laws, staying alert, wearing helmets, stopping at stop signs, and understanding that drivers may not always see them.

Let’s work together to make this a safe and fun summer for everyone. Your safety is our priority.
