This week, we proudly celebrate National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week — honoring the voices behind the scenes who make a life-saving difference every single day. 📞🚔🚑🔥

Our telecommunicators are the calm in chaos, the steady voice in someone’s worst moment, and the critical link between our community and emergency services. Every call answered, every dispatch made, and every second counted reflects their dedication, professionalism, and heart for serving others.

Often unseen, these individuals work long hours, handle high-stress situations, and continue to show up with strength and compassion.

To our incredible team: thank you for your commitment, your resilience, and the sacrifices you make to keep our community safe. We are grateful for you not just this week—but every single day.

💛 Join us in showing appreciation for our telecommunicators this week!

🚨📞 On This Day in 911 History 📞🚨

On February 16, 1968, the very first 911 system went live in Haleyville — marking the beginning of what would become the nationwide emergency communications system we rely on today.

What started as a simple connection to a local police station has evolved into advanced 911 centers with CAD systems, mapping technology, enhanced location services, and highly trained telecommunicators working around the clock.

From that first call to the thousands answered daily across the country, 911 continues to be a lifeline in moments that matter most.

💛 A special thank you to all Communications Officers who serve as the calm in the chaos. Your steady voice, quick thinking, and dedication save lives every single day. You are the first first responders — and your work does not go unnoticed.
