Join Special Olympics Iowa and Camp Courageous at their Unified Sports Day on Tuesday, September 15th!

Unified Sports Days offer a single-day event for athletes to engage with volunteers from the community through a variety of sport skills & drills stations including football, soccer, volleyball, co****le and more!

The Rooted Table is ONE WEEK AWAY, and we’re in the final push! This dinner takes a whole community to pull off, and we have a few important volunteer shifts that still need some love. ❤️

If you’ve been thinking, “I’d love to help with The Rooted Table,” this is your moment!

👩‍🍳 AUGUST 29 — FOOD PREP WITH THE CHEFS | STEEPLE SQUARE
We have two shifts available:
• 10:00 AM–1:30 PM
• 1:00–3:30 PM

Come work alongside our incredible chefs and help prep the food that will become part of this very special dinner. You’ll get a behind-the-scenes look at what it takes to feed a whole table — and have some fun doing it!

🥕 AUGUST 29 — PRE-PREP | BOYS & GIRLS CLUB
We’ll be getting organized, prepping ingredients, and making sure everything is ready to go for Sunday. There is a LOT that happens before guests ever pull up a chair!

✨ AUGUST 30 — 2:00 PM SETUP | BOYS & GIRLS CLUB
THIS SHIFT CURRENTLY HAS ZERO VOLUNTEERS. 😳

Yep. Zero. Zilch. Nada.

And we need you! This is the shift where we transform the Boys & Girls Club into The Rooted Table — and getting every little detail ready before our guests arrive.

Volunteer DBQ was BUSY last weekend! We were at the Dubuque Farmers' Market, Crescent Community Health Center's Steppin It Up 5k Health and Wellness Expo, and DBQfest. We had so much fun connecting with everyone 😁

Have you ever thought about ways to provide meaningful support and make a big difference in the lives of patients and families receiving hospice care? Become a volunteer at Care Initiatives Hospice and provide comfort, companionship, and support to patients and their families!

Care Initiatives Hospice is hosting a FREE community information session to learn how to become a volunteer.

Sessions will be held on Thursday, August 20 at 10am AND 6pm at the Multicultural Family Center (1157 Central Ave, Dubuque)

Project Rooted is looking for volunteers to help with The Rooted Table! This is such a cool event and takes so many volunteers to make it happen.

If you are interested in helping out, follow the link below to find opportunities!

The Rooted Table is coming up on August 30, and we would love for you to be part of making this special evening happen. ❤️

There are a few ways to get involved before and during the event. One of our first opportunities is this Thursday, when volunteers will help us go door-to-door and personally invite our neighbors to join us at the table.

This is what the Rooted Table is all about—bringing people together, building connections, and making sure everyone knows they have a place at the table.

We also have volunteer opportunities to help with setup, greeting guests, serving, and cleanup on the day of the event.
