Three of our members had the opportunity to attend FDIC International, the largest firefighter convention in the United States, with nearly 38,000 firefighters from across the country in attendance.

While there, they participated in training classes, explored trade show booths, and watched live demonstrations—all with the goal of expanding their knowledge and bringing back new ideas, skills, and resources to benefit our department and community.

Training Night Recap 🚒

A big thank you to Dan and Rob with National Education Center for Agricultural Safety for leading last night’s training on anhydrous ammonia.

Members learned about the hazards associated with anhydrous ammonia and nurse tanks, along with proper emergency response for incidents involving fires, leaks/spills, and chemical burns.

The hands-on portion utilized a state-of-the-art anhydrous ammonia training trailer, where participants worked through several evolutions simulating real-world emergency response to an ammonia release.

Great training and even better experience for our crew!

💊Training Night Recap: Medication Administration💊

Thank you to Dan White for leading Monday night’s training! Members started with a presentation, then put their knowledge to the test with a (slightly competitive) game of Jeopardy, and wrapped up the night with some hands-on training.

Great mix of learning and fun—always good to keep sharpening our skills!

Training Night Recap 🚑⚡

This week’s training focused on EKG identification and cardiac monitor applications.

Our crew reviewed rhythm recognition, what to look for on the monitor, and how those findings guide treatment decisions in the field.

A big thank you to Alicia White for leading the refresher and walking us through EKG rhythms and patient care considerations. Keeping these skills sharp ensures we’re ready to provide the best possible care when seconds matter.
