It’s a day to recognize the strength, sacrifice, and solidarity of working people. Today, we honor those who came before us, those beside us, and everyone who continues to work toward a better future.

🧑‍🚒Here's your chance to show you have what it takes to join the Dubuque Fire Department!🧑‍🚒

DFD is offering its Candidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT) this fall. Passing the CPAT is one of the key steps in Dubuque Fire's hiring process.

Here's the schedule:
1️⃣ Learn more about the CPAT at orientation sessions on Sept. 16 and 19
2️⃣ Get a feel for the CPAT with a practice test on Oct. 14 or 17
3️⃣ Take the CPAT exam on Nov. 21!

Testing timeslots must be reserved by phone by calling 563-589-4160.

Dubuque Fire Department Hosting Open Houses to Commemorate 9/11 Anniversary

The Dubuque Fire Department will mark the 25th anniversary of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks with open houses at all department fire stations.

The public is invited to join the department at any or all of its six fire stations between 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 11.

Firefighters will be on hand to share stories as a way to connect with their neighbors in a morning of reflection and remembrance. Visitors will also be able to take brief tours of each fire station.

The Dubuque Fire Department’s six fire stations are located at:
• 11 W. 9th St.
• 2180 John F. Kennedy Rd.
• 3155 Central Ave.
• 1697 University Ave.
• 689 S. Grandview Ave.
• 1500 Rhomberg Ave.

🇺🇸 Honoring the 25th Anniversary of 9/11

This morning, our firefighters had the honor of escorting 22 riders from the Bay to Brooklyn Ride for 9/11 to Exit 1.

These riders are traveling across the country from Santa Clara to Brooklyn—3,615 miles—in remembrance of September 11th. This ride takes place every five years to honor the lives lost and ensure we never forget.

We’re proud to stand alongside them and help support their journey. 🇺🇸🚒

We can’t thank everyone enough for making the Dubuque Fire Department Local 25 MDA Golf Outing such a huge success!

And most importantly, thank you to everyone who helped us support MDA. Firefighters have proudly supported MDA for generations and we’re proud to continue that tradition in our community.

This was our inaugural golf outing, and raising $13,200 is more than we could have hoped for. We couldn’t have done it without all of you.

We hope to see everyone back next year — and hopefully with even more golfers, sponsors, and another big number for MDA!
