“Among Great Give Day participants seeking funds for a specific project is Friends of the Mines of Spain, which supports the recreation area and EB Lyons Interpretive Center.

The organization’s goal for Great Give Day is to support a newly announced permanent exhibit at the interpretive center, Land & Legacy: The Evolving Story of the Mines of Spain, which will tell the history of the surrounding landscape from indigenous stewardship to modern conservation.

The group’s president, Jennifer Tigges, encourages donors to consider supporting Friends of the Mines of Spain on Great Give Day, no matter the size of their donation.

“Even $10 helps,” she said.”

One of Dubuque’s largest annual fundraising events is coming up to support Dubuque-based and rural nonprofits.
