We are so happy to share that a long term resident has moved into permanent supportive housing! Thank you to Wellpoint and REM Iowa (Sevita) for making this possible based on his health needs. Our resident will get the support he needs to live independently and meet his personal goals! Best wishes to our resident!!

Another week's harvest! 🍇🥔🫛
In between the rain we managed to get our veggies out, including 20 pounds of grapes, 50 pounds of potatoes and 20 pounds of green beans!
For squash we have tromboncino, a volunteer yellow and our first butternut was ready!
Our turnips have started coming out as well, did you know that turnip greens can be cooked and are a tasty treat?
❤️All of these goodies will be enjoyed as part of our free meal program.

We are revamping our compost system! Thanks to a grant from Sustainable Dubuque, we were able to build 3 compost tumblers for our garden.

We are looking for a wood chipper to process larger branches, cardboard, and brush to turn into beautiful mulch to add carbon and nitrogen to our copost!

We replanted our onion beds with beets we had started in our greenhouse. We also started rutabaga and turnips! We use a technique called soil blocking which is pictured here.

❤️When I read the book "Nonviolent Communication" by Marshall Rosenberg, it completely changed the way I understood and communicated with myself and others.
