At the June Council Meeting, we were proud to recognize the graduates of the third cohort of the FLOCK (Fundamental Lessons of Citizen Knowledge) Academy!

Over the course of six sessions, participants got an inside look at how our Town operates behind the scenes, learning directly from Department Directors and Town staff about the many services and responsibilities that keep our community running each day. From administration and finance to public safety, community development, and communications, the program provided a unique opportunity to connect with Town staff, ask questions, share ideas, and gain a deeper understanding of local government and the important role engaged citizens play in shaping our community.

The FLOCK Academy was established to make local government more accessible and to encourage the community to take an active role in understanding and engaging with the Town. This group stepped up to that challenge with enthusiasm, curiosity, and a willingness to learn. Their commitment to becoming informed and engaged community members helps build a stronger, more connected Town for everyone.

Congratulations to the graduates , and thank you for investing your time in making our Town an even stronger place to call home! We can't wait to see what you do as leaders in the Town and greater Outer Banks.
