On Friday, December 13th, ABC Virginia members attended our annual Holiday Party at The Westin in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Members enjoyed a DJ and dance competition, casin games, live music, champagne and more. This year, our attendees supported Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters with a generous toy drive. ABC Virginia would like to thank all of our members, 2019 Executive Club and event sponsors who made this such a great event.

ABC-VA Richmond kicked off a series of visits to all Chesterfield County, Virginia​ High Schools today at Monacan High School​. We would like to thank Jennifer Robinson, Keli McClure, and Jackson Shearin from Davis & Green Electrical​, Lincoln Swineford from Ecs Mid-Atlantic​, and Chris Davoud and Scott Armstrong from Old Dominion Insulation​ for providing valuable insight into careers in the industry and especially in their specific trades.

This visit was even more inspirational because Shearin, Davoud, and Armstrong are all Monacan High alumni.

The Crosby Group has recalled a number of shackles after determining that some may have a condition that reduces the ultimate load of the shackle. Crosby asserts that use of these shackles is within the rated working load limit, however use in excess of the rated working load limit may result in property damage, severe injury, or death, depending on the type of application.

The 6th Annual Shells & Half Shells event was held on Monday, October 28 at Old Forge Sporting Clays.

This year’s affair included a new element: The Judge 410 Competition. More than half of the field purchased participated and those who hit the target received raffle tickets for brand new Stihl Outdoor Tool Set.

All shooters had 75 targets. The winners were:

Morning Session:
Charlie Crutchfield -72/75
Matthew Thompson: 63/75
Justin Toney: 62/75

Afternoon Session:
Matt Pope: 70/75
David Coleman: 65/75
Ryan Davoud: 61/75
Brandon Berry: 61/75

To make things even more exciting, we had a shoot-out for 3rd place in the Afternoon Session. Ryan Davoud and Brandon Berry faced off at the 5-Stand to take aim at 6 targets. With the crowd watching, Davoud calmly set the pace hitting 5/6. Berry stepped up and hit 3, missing number 4 and then 5 knocking him out of contention.

A record crowd turned out for the 2019 Central Virginia Bowling event on Thursday, November 9th. There were 22 teams and almost another 20 spectators on hand to watch the excitement unfold in the quest for the trophy.

After Round 1, James River Nurseries set the pace with 844 points, followed closely by Atlantic Constructors with 817, and defending champ Mayer Electric with 700.

James River Nurseries rested for a bit in the second game, allowing ACI and Mayer to come storming back, but JRN, led by Phil Silver, turned it up another notch and pulled out the victory.

Game 2 scores were – JRN: 763, ACI: 757, Mayer: 828.

The final scores: JRN: 1607, ACI: 1574, Mayer: 1528. JRN takes the trophy and will defend next November!

ODU Opening Game at the new Kornblau Field at S.B. Ballard Stadium on August 31, 2019.

They said it couldn’t be done, but we proved IT CAN and WE DID!

Who would’ve believed when the ODU Football season ended last November that in 9 months S.B. Ballard Construction Company and our team would be able to tear down 83 year old Foreman Field and replace it with the newest football stadium in America?

A Job That Should Have Taken 18 Months, Completed in Just 9 Months.
