In our effort to serve our clients better, we have added snack boxes for kids this year. 10-12 pounds of shelf stable milk, juice, Mac and cheese, tuna and other food young people can easily access. We seek to do all we can to help families feel they have more food options. This is accompanied with 10-12 pounds of fresh fruits and vegetable in a box, our 28 pound bag of shelf stable food, bread, meat and specials. Over 60 pounds of food per visit.

Before joining the Duluth Co-op I had no idea of the value of the boxes in this photo. Banana boxes are what bananas are shipped in, but once we have them in the food bank they become the heart of our meat inventory. Designed to stack but not crush we use these boxes all the time…our freezers are filled with them.

Because of a generous donor we are able to expand our walk in freezer by 30% . That means we can accept larger loads, accept more meat and expand the number of families we serve. We are working every day to make our Co-op a better partner for our clients!
