We thank you for the missed holidays, interrupted dinners, long nights, and countless moments your families share you with the communities you serve.

We thank you for running toward what others run from. For showing up on someone’s worst day. For protecting strangers, comforting victims, searching for the lost, standing beside the hurting, and doing a job that often asks far more than most people will ever see.

And to the officers serving across the Northland and beyond: we see you, we appreciate you, and we are grateful for your service.

Today—and every day—thank a police officer. 💙🖤

To the women who patrol our streets, investigate the unimaginable, protect victims, comfort families, lead departments, train the next generation, and quietly carry the weight of this profession home with them — we see you, we appreciate you, and we are proud to stand beside you.

🇺🇸 WE WILL NEVER FORGET. 🇺🇸

Twenty-five years ago today, our nation changed forever.

On September 11, 2001, 2,977 lives were taken. Families lost mothers, fathers, husbands, wives, sons, daughters, brothers, sisters, friends and coworkers. And while thousands were desperately trying to escape the unimaginable, first responders were running toward it.

Police officers. Firefighters. EMS. Military members. Ordinary Americans who became heroes simply because someone beside them needed help.

Today, Lake Superior Lodge 9 FOP remembers every life stolen that morning. We honor the first responders who made the ultimate sacrifice, those who worked for days and months afterward, and those who carried wounds—both seen and unseen—for the rest of their lives.

We also remember what happened in the hours and days that followed: America came together. Strangers helped strangers. Communities stood shoulder to shoulder. Flags appeared everywhere. For a moment, our differences became insignificant compared to what united us.

Twenty-five years later, may we never allow time to soften the memory of their sacrifice.

Remember the lives.
Remember the heroes.
Remember the families.
Remember September 11, 2001.

Labor Day is more than a long weekend. It’s a reminder that strong communities are built by people willing to show up, put in the work, and take care of one another.

💙 Our hearts are with Minneapolis tonight.

Lake Superior Lodge 9 extends our deepest thoughts and prayers to the Minneapolis Police officers who were injured today while doing what they are called to do: running toward the gunfire while others were trying to get to safety.

We grieve for the innocent lives lost, pray for those who were injured, and hold their families, loved ones, and the entire community close in our hearts.

We also want to recognize every law enforcement officer, firefighter, EMS professional, first responder, and citizen who ran toward danger to help others when chaos erupted.

And to the 911 dispatchers who answered the calls, sent help, coordinated an overwhelming response, and remained the calm voice in the chaos ~ thank you. Your work may happen behind the scenes, but it is never unseen.

In moments like these, badges, patches, uniforms, and agencies become secondary. What matters is people showing up for people: protecting, treating, comforting, helping, and holding the line together.

There are simply no words adequate for senseless violence that leaves lives lost, people injured, responders wounded, and an entire community forever changed.

Lake Superior Lodge 9 FOP stands with the victims, their families, our Minneapolis law enforcement brothers and sisters, our fellow first responders, and every person affected by today's tragedy.

The Camp Fire wildfire in and around the BWCA near Ely is filled with heartbreaking devastation for so many families, businesses, and members of our community. Homes + cabins filled with memories…land built through generations of hard work…cherished belongings and safe places all in harms way. It’s impossible to truly put that kind of worry into words.

But even in the middle of fear, smoke, exhaustion, and uncertainty, once again we are witnessing the very best of humanity.

Around the clock, firefighters, law enforcement officers, dispatchers, EMS personnel, forestry crews, pilots, public works, and countless emergency responders work tirelessly through the day and night to protect lives, homes, and entire communities. While others evacuate, they are running toward danger. While families worry, they stand on the front lines battling flames, heat, exhaustion, and impossible conditions without hesitation.

To every single hero fighting this blaze: thank you will never feel like enough. Our community stands with you, supports you, and is forever grateful for your courage, sacrifice, and relentless dedication. Stay safe.

And to the people and businesses stepping up to help — donating supplies, opening doors, feeding responders, supporting displaced families, checking on neighbors, and proving once again what northern Minnesota is made of — you are the heartbeat of this community. In times of tragedy, the Northland shows its strength not through words, but through action.

For those who are affected: please know you are not alone. This community is standing beside you every step of the way.

🇺🇸 Happy Independence Day from all of us at Lake Superior Lodge 9 FOP! 🇺🇸

Today, we celebrate 250 years of freedom, resilience, and the American spirit.

As fireworks light up the sky and families gather around lakes, campfires, parades, and backyard grills across Northern Minnesota, we are reminded of how fortunate we are to call this country home.

The Fourth of July is more than a celebration of our nation's birth. It is a tribute to the men and women who have defended our freedoms for generations, and to the first responders who continue to stand watch while the rest of us celebrate. While many enjoy the holiday with family and friends, countless law enforcement officers, dispatchers, firefighters, EMS personnel, military members, corrections officers, and other public safety professionals will spend today serving their communities.

To those working the holiday, thank you! Your sacrifice does not go unnoticed.

To the families who share their loved ones with the profession, thank you! Your support is the backbone of everything we do.

And to everyone across the Northland and beyond, we wish you a safe, joyful, and memorable Independence Day.

Our hearts are with one of our Northland brothers tonight. 💙

In the blink of an eye, everything can change.

Last night, what began as a routine patrol ended in a devastating crash. It's a sobering reminder that every time a deputy, police officer, dispatcher, firefighter, EMT, or first responder reports for duty, they willingly accept risks that most people never have to think about. They kiss their loved ones goodbye, put on the badge, and answer the call—never knowing what the next shift may bring.

Today, we are incredibly grateful that the injuries sustained by the St. Louis County Sheriff's Office - MN deputy are not life-threatening. While there is still a road to recovery ahead, this outcome is a blessing, and we are thankful for every first responder, medical professional, and Good Samaritan who helped during this critical incident.

Our thoughts are also with the other driver involved, and we hope for healing and recovery for everyone affected.

To our brother: your family in blue is standing beside you. The members of Lake Superior Lodge 9 FOP are praying for your complete recovery—body, mind, and spirit. We pray for strength & healing so that when the time is right, you are able to return to doing what you love: serving and protecting the community that depends on you.

No one puts on the uniform expecting to become the one needing help. Last night, that reality hit close to home.

Please join us in keeping this deputy, his loved ones, and everyone involved in your thoughts and prayers.

Happy Father's Day to the Men Behind the Badge!

Today, we honor the fathers of law enforcement. The men who answer the call, even when it means leaving their own families behind.

While most dads are in the stands cheering at a game, sitting around the dinner table, or enjoying a holiday with loved ones, many law enforcement fathers are working nights, weekends, holidays, and endless overtime. They miss first pitches, dance recitals, birthday candles, school concerts, and family gatherings because someone else's family needs help.

When the radio crackles, they go.

They leave their spouses, children, and the safety of their own homes to protect people they've never met. They run toward danger so others can run away from it. They carry the weight of the job long after the shift ends, then somehow find the strength to come home and be Dad.

The badge demands sacrifice.

Fatherhood demands sacrifice.

These men carry both.

To every law enforcement father who has missed a bedtime story, coached a team after working all night, taken a call during a family dinner, or put the needs of the community before their own — THANK YOU!

Your children may not always understand the sacrifices today, but they are growing up watching courage, service, integrity, and selflessness in action.
