Have you ever heard of illicit discharge?🤷🏼🤔

➡️ An illicit discharge is anything in the gutter and road on its way to a storm drain or already in the sewer that is NOT stormwater.

‼️If you see something that is not stormwater entering a storm drain in your neighborhood, call the relevant city and number listed and report it‼️

Storm drains are only intended to collect and transport the water from rain or snow events to nearby lakes, rivers, and streams. 🌊If it’s in the street, it’s in our streams. 😱

🙌 To maintain fishable, swimmable, and drinkable water, and prevent pollution from entering our waterways, only stormwater should enter storm drains and ditches.👍

Volunteer opportunity with the St. Louis River Alliance!

Volunteer opportunity! Join us at the Wisconsin Point Bird Sanctuary on August 6th from 3:00-6:00pm. During this volunteer maintenance day, we will be handling unwanted vegetation within targeted areas. If the wind and weather cooperates, we will be managing the invasives by burning them on site.

Participants are encouraged to email Mikayla, at [email protected] if they are interested in helping so we have enough tools to go around. Gloves, buckets, shovels, and contracting bags will be provided. Please feel free bring your own equipment/materials if you have them.

Additional Dates: Friday August 7th, Monday August 10th.
