On October 6, Rainbow Village Board Member Donnette and members of her small group generously volunteered their time and resources to provide special activities for our children during Pathways to Progress evening programming.

While parents attended their classes, Donnette and her group engaged children of all ages in fun, meaningful activities, including pumpkin decorating and a painting activity with our teens centered on their personal goals, dreams, and aspirations for the future.

Donnette went above and beyond to create a thoughtful and engaging experience for our children, and we are so grateful for her continued investment in the families of Rainbow Village!

On October 7, Rainbow Village welcomed fifth-grade students from Perimeter School for a morning of learning and service. During their visit, students participated in a poverty simulation to better understand the challenges families experiencing financial hardship may face.

They also toured our campus and wrapped up their visit by assembling snack packs for children in our Academy after-school program. The group generously sponsored snacks for multiple days, helping ensure our Academy students have nutritious snacks throughout the week. We are grateful for their generosity and willingness to serve!

Our very own Olivia Sheridan did an awesome job representing Rainbow Village at the Be Rich Nonprofit Showcase at Gwinnett Church this weekend. The showcase provided an opportunity to raise awareness about Rainbow Village and encourage community involvement in our programs and events.

During the event, Olivia connected with church attendees, shared information about upcoming fall volunteer opportunities, and highlighted volunteer and sponsorship needs for our Wild Wild West Fall Festival on October 27. A very special thank you to Gwinnett Church for inviting us to participate!

Many of our fans already know we're in the midst of a major expansion to more than double the number of families Rainbow Village can serve. Beyond the two new beautiful apartment buildings nearing completion on our campus, you may not realize that we're also reimagining our Community Center - where our youngest residents attend Academy after school and on holiday/summer breaks, and where our families gather for a weekly dinner and Pathways to Progress workshops.

We are beyond grateful for the hard work shown by the 38 volunteers from DRB Homes, CBRE, and Sherwin-Williams who came together for a HomeAid Georgia Care Day at Rainbow Village last month to put a fresh coat of paint on the third floor of our Community Center. In addition to painting, DRB Homes and their trades closed in an open space with new framing and drywall and installed a door to provide additional storage space.

HomeAid’s vision aligns beautifully with the Rainbow Village mission: to be a vital force in creating safe and dignified housing and programmatic facilities for those experiencing or at risk of homelessness.
