Are wetlands important to you? Learn more about the critical ecosystem services wetlands provide and how you can use your voice to help strengthen wetland protections in Minnesota.

RSVP at the link in our bio for an upcoming free webinar from noon to 1 pm on May 20th, covering federal threats to Minnesota’s unparalleled wetlands and how our state can step up to protect them. Protecting Our Wetlands: From National Cuts to Minnesota’s Moment is a great opportunity to learn from experts about the many ways wetlands are essential to Minnesota’s clean water, climate, and communities, and what you can do to help protect them.

The more people who participate and advocate, the better the chances that Minnesota will adopt new rules strong enough to withstand a deregulated federal landscape and protect our wetlands well into the future.

Researchers at the University of Minnesota are working to better understand foraging practices in Ramsey county.

Whether you find foraging access in the county or reside there and forage elsewhere you are encouraged to contribute to research efforts by completing a quick survey.

Some respondents will be selected to continue engaging in future research opportunities which involve mini foraging forays!

Minnesota Wildlife Federation is excited to be growing our interest and advocacy concerning foraging in Minnesota.

MWF supported the creation of the Minnesota Sustainable Task Force and recently expanded its board of directors to include two Minnesotans with deep ties to foraging communities in the state- Leya Charles and Alan Toczydlowski

These two MWF board members, co-chairs of the MWF’s Foraging Alliance committee (MNFA) recently attended the annual banquet and awards ceremony. Board member Alan Toczydlowski won two photography awards, one for humor and one director award for best overall pictorial quality and composition of all categories.

MWF partners with organizations such as MMS on events, educational opportunities, and advocacy in protecting public lands for outdoor pursuits.

Congrats to Alan!

We are hopeful the US Senate votes in opposition to CRA resolution HJ140 and urge you to let you elected officials know how you stand on this important issue.

I'm your constituent. As a U.S. voter and conservationist, I'm asking you to uphold protections for the Boundary Waters for future generations. This is one of the finest places in the world for campers, hunters, and anglers and it is important to the entire United States. The water and wildlife of Northeast Minnesota deserve no less.
